I have a network cable running upstairs into my bedroom to update my tivo.
I did use this cable for my pc and I could run a 2nd cable from my router to reuse this pc in the bedroom again but it will be a real faff to sort out.
I know I could get a switch but I would prefer to not have another piece of kit plugged in for this.
I know the tivo only really needs to be connected roughly a couple of times a week to do sufficient updates so it would be handy if there was some sort of manual switch box with one cable cable going in and 2 out so I can just flick the switch as and when needed.
So does anyone know if such an adaptor is available?

you could use a network splitter and split the feed. The pc will only connect at 10mb. you will need to have 2 spare ports on your router/switch to do this.

you will need 2 of these:

I`ve never seen them before, I suppose they just use the 2 "unused" pairs in the cat 5,
and are completely passive?
