Trying to get PPP working. Have series 1 Philips HDR and have made my own serial cable. Using Windows XP. Have downloaded the correct modem file, deleted the other, rebooted etc. Setup the modem and "Incoming Connections" part properly or so I believe, followed instructions online to do this. Serial cable works fine, made it using AWG 30 wire and its about 20cm long or so. Serial cable works because I can serial bash in and login yadda yadda all good there. Problem is when trying to get a PPP connection. LAN is DHCP by a router, I have tried doing the Tivo DHCP and also using a static ip. Ip range I used was both inside and outside the typical range that my comps are given. Anyway I never get the ~ or "user request" when using hyper term to see what the tivo box is sending out. Pasted below from modemlog file. It just goes on and on and never stops. Anyone have any idea? :) I do have some tivo network cards on order but just annoyed I cant get serial ppp working :( As I do have a spare comp sitting around which I can easily leave connected and on 24/7. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok added an extra wire and now the connection seems to be fine. Not sure why as it was working in serial bash fine but all good now :)
