I recently added an HR10-250 DVR and am passing it through a Denon AVR-3805. Now I'm getting this annoying beeping/clicking noise no matter the source. The sound isn't very loud but is audible when the volume is low. Another curious thing is that the noise goes away when I press the mute button.
My tech who installed my system suggested it was the hard drive on the DVR. Does that sound right and if so, how do I make it go away?
Any suggestions?

How is it connected to the AVR?
It sounds almost like a grounding issue. Is your satellite dish grounded to the same ground as the AV system?

I'm not sure but I've had a number of other sat boxes (HD and regular) and this is the first time this ever popped up. My tech guy simply swapped out my old HD sat box with the HR10-250.

And I forgot to mention that my system is all located on a rack. I have a Sonance system 6 audio/video distribution system that is connected to the AVR as well as an Escient DVD manager. The details of all the individual connections are beyond me.

If you have the money to have a "tech guy" then tell him to fix it.
Jeez.

That's the problem, he can't figure it out.

You're gonna need a new tech guy, I guess.

Thanks, that's insightful.
