Problems with DVD recording from Now Playing List

I have my HR10-250 connected to my Sony RDR-GX300. I can record the sound onto the DVD but not the video. I have tried using an S-video cable and an audio/video cables, no luck with either. I have tried recording high def. programs and standard def. programs and get audio and a black screen. Any suggestions?

Change the output to 480i; that is the only way the S-Video will work.

except you do know the hd shows will only be sd 480i on the dvd you record right? will look pretty good just not true hd.
