DRT800 - DVD burn error - play is OK - EDIT

DVD Drive Firmware Ver. - DVD-RW DVR-108RZ 1.15

My TIVO will no longer burn DVDs, but plays 'em fine.
Plays both commercial movies and my old TIVO copies.

I've burned lots of DVDs w/ various brand -R and -RW media.
I am using -R and -RW brands that have been sucessful before.
The error seems to occur on the Finalizing stage...

*EDIT - I just tried a burn to verify the error message text.
The -RW burn (Angel) completed sucessfully, so now I am stumped!
Did another -RW burn (Futurama) sucessfully - all one show, same quailty level.

Before this I had 4 -R & -RW's fail. I am still curious though - so any ideas?
When it failed, I WAS recording a mix of shows of different quality levels.
I WAS deleting old shows during the failed burns, but it was never a problem.

interesting. i just received my first few errors in the past couple of days. "save to dvd failed" your programs could not be saved because of an internal error. hopefully this goes away for me too! anyone with any ideas?

That was the error text!
Were you burning a mix of shows & quality levels - or all one series & quality?

This was never a problem for me in the past though...
I was mixing shows to fill 100% of the DVD on the failed burns.
Previously my mixes were like 83% or 97%... wonder if this is an issue?

NOTE - I just tried to re-burn the (Futuramas) to a -R and my DVD is stalled @ 5%
Since the 4 failed burns (on -R's that worked fine last month) I went to -RW's.
They also failed (last week) but worked fine today (and last month)!

Could an overnight software update be causing this?

EDIT - I can't get anything to burn again... using EITHER -RW or -R !

Whoops, broke the cardinal rule... did not search the exact term!

After you posted the ERROR text (that I had forgotten) I searched that term and here's the news... not really good news, but I am doing a system reset and then trying a burn. It seems many many people are having the same issues after the DVD 1.5 firmware update.

PS - I've been readinga bout Tivo TO-GO & I think I am going to get a wired network adapter and dump my shows to my PC to burn to DVD... I CAN NOT miss the weekly Amp'd Mobile Supercross Series on CBS Sundays!
