I'm trying to access my Tivo remotely when away from home.

I'm using a Netgear DG834GT ADSL Router and as far as I can tell I have setup everything correctly.

I've changed the port number in the Tivoweb config file to 80XX

I've setup a service and firewall rule to redirect calls to port 80XX from the outside to the Tivo on 192.168.1.200

But I still can't connect!

It might be an issue with my ISP, I recall some time ago talking to them about web and ftp servers and they were keen for me to use non-standard ports, I think they had to enable ftp access, so web access may be 'disabled' in some way. Tech support isn't avaialble over the weekend either!

Just seeking some advice if I have overlooked something...

you could take the tivo out of the equation by setting up a web server on your pc and seeing if you can access that from outside...

Have you got a static IP address on broadband? Mine changes sometimes so I have no-ip running from a server to keep a sub-domain pointing at my house.

On my setup, I left TiVoWeb on port 80, and forward port 2020 from the outside world to port 80 on the TiVo's IP.

Also, have you re-started the router since applying the changes? Mine requires a restart on some setting to take effect.

(not actually 2020 btw)

I don't think the DG834GT can port redirect ie external 8080 to internal port 80.

You will have to change the TiVoWeb port number by editing the .cfg file to match the forwarded port number.

Correct, I have done that, still no joy!

I'll try the other web sever solution and see what happens....

Problem fixed.... It looks like the Gateway address had not been set in the TIvo.

This only got set 'by accident' when I enabled the Daily Call over the internet. I can now contact the Tivo/Tivoweb from outside my LAN...

Thanks for all the replies.
