I am replacing my aging SAT-T60 with an R-10. The T60 has 2 hard drives.

Is it possible to transfer the saved programs from the T-60 to the R10?

I installed the 2nd hard drive myself, so I'm not afraid of opening the case and diggin' in, if there's a way to save the shows. The T-60 is operating fine, I'm simply replacing it for newer hardware.

I've search the forum and haven't found any positive info on transfering saved programs to a new D*TiVo, so I'm thinking that it can't be done.... but I thought I'd ask before telling the wife. ;)

No, there is no way to transfer programs between two DirecTV DVRs.

That's untrue. I do this everyday between my Series 2 D*TiVo boxes. Of course they have to be hacked to do it.

But between an R10 and an old series 1? Not easily. The R10 cannot be hacked without hardware mods, and the T60 won't support MRV. You would need to modify the R10 and hack it, then add networking to the T60 and hack it, then use tools we are not allowed to discuss here to move the programs.

It would be far easier to copy the shows from the T60 to a DVD recorder and put the discs on your shelf. You can buy a DVD recorder for under $100, which would be cheaper than performing the upgrades needed to copy the shows.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't think it would be easy to transfer the shows .... if at all possible.

I didn't think about using a DVD recorder. Great idea! That will be a relatively easy and painless solution.
