View Full Version : Enabling folders &/or 6.2 with HR10-250...
Are there any options in enabling folders &/or 6.2 with an HR10-250 model via a manual software upgrade or otherwise?
Thanks much,

Unfortunately not.
The current version is incapable of folders, and 6.2 will not run on an HR10-250.
Hmmm, here is my situation:
I have no HD TVs, and my HDVR2 died (ended up being the hard drive when testing it in another unit) from a power brownout last month. So, I ended up contacting DTV about a replacement HDVR2 (to which they replied that they had none) and asked about a HR10-250 as a replacement.
They offered it to me (after I strongly suggested) for a net of $99. It was only afterward that I learned that the HR10-250 model was incapable as of now to get 6.2 and/or folders.
So, should I hang onto the HR10-250 or get a new hard drive(s) for the HDVR2 while staying with what I know.
The reason I elected for the HR10-250 was in anticipation of getting a HDTV one day (likely in a year or two), but who knows when. There remains the possibility that I can get a refund from DTV because I feel I was misled.
What would others do given my scenario?
Thanks,

sell the HDTivo on ebay and buy a SD unit.
Gunnyman,
I'd rather not sell it on eBay, as I am going to try for a refund.
Plus, I still have my HDVR2, all it needs is a new hard drive.
Would you add a new hard drive to it and dump the HR10-250?
Thanks,

I'll trade you a Samsung with 6.2 on it and a 250gb drive for your HR10-250...
Arcady,
Now you have piqued my curiosity. Why would you want to make this trade?

Because I have an HDTV set that wants programs in HD....
Oh yeah, I have too many SD TiVos already (see my sig).
