Upgrading with a Hard Drive Enclosure

Is it possible to use a hard drive enclosure to add a 2nd drive to a R-10 or a 10-250? I haven't been able to find any specific mention of the enclosure in the Weakness upgrade instructions.

Why would you want to use a hard drive enclosure, when you can put a second hard drive into the unit with a simple bracket? Are you trying to use a drive of a larger physical size? Do they still even make larger form factor drives?

Weaknees and PTV both sell appropriate drive brackets. I don't think that they support more than 2 physical drives, or someone would have done it here.

Oh, and it seems like it "should" work. You would just need to figure out how to route the cable through the case without it being totally open, which would be a bad idea.

If you are asking about an external hard drive enclosure, no it will not work. The Tivo OS does not have the proper drivers.
