Anyone else planning to watch this? I'll be watching at the local Hooters with a bunch of friends. :D

I'm rooting for Couture, but I think Liddell is going to take the win unless Randy gets in a lucky haymaker. Should be a good fight to watch, no matter who wins.

The Diaz vs. Riggs fight should also be pretty good. Diaz is a tough kid, but I think Riggs has superior power. Unless Diaz can get a submission, I predict he'll lose. I think he's lost his last two, and Diego "Dirty" Sanchez beat him in his last match.

I noticed that Keith Jardine will be facing Mike Whitehead again. I thought that Whitehead had given up MMA after his pathetic performance in UF2, but it looks like he's going to give it another go. Unless he can get his head in the game he'll be out before the first round is over.

I heard Couture on the radio yesterday, didn't realize he was a hometown boy. I am still trying to figure out why I find this sport so captivating. Not gonna cough up the $$$ for PPV, though.

When is the next SpikeTV Ultimate Fighter going to start?

And isn't Couture going to be one of the coaches?

Both are great fighters, but I'm pulling for Couture. He needs to take Liddell down. Liddell is just too dangerous on his feet. Couture has shown he can stand and throw with just about anybody, but Liddell still has the edge, and all it takes is one good punch, like in their last fight. But, on the ground or in a clinch, Couture has the better skills. Now that he knows that even he can get knocked out by Liddell, I'm sure he be a little less careless.

I thought I read that Ken Shamrock was going to be a coach on the next TUF...

I'm going to watch it. I am really looking forward to the Diaz Riggs fight. I like them both a lot, and its crazy that they are fighting each other after two recent losses.

The two coaches this year are Ken Shamrock and Tito Ortiz. They will fight on Spike at the end of the show.

I can't wait, I wanna see Liddell unleash on Couture. The Diaz Riggs fight should be a real good match too, I think it'll go at least 2 rounds maybe the full 3 if Diaz can keep it on the ground.

I can't wait for Hughes Gracie in May, new vs old and all that jazz.

Yep, Shamrock and Tito Ortiz, couple hotheads, it's gonna be interesting.

Diaz<->Rigs doesn't really matter, neither can beat GSP or Hughes Or "Dirty" Sanchez. Diaz will probably win though.

Couture is a better all around Octagon fighter than Lidell. If you remember from the last match, Couture was unlucky and caught a thumb in the eye, the punch that opened up his guard was immediately after they re-engaged from the eye check, he still couldn't see. I know it's an excuse, but I'm sticking with it.

Mir will mop the floor.

Whitehead<->Jardine, it will be interesting to see if either or both of them actually bring it, in the UF2 fighting we never saw either give it their best.

Hughes<->Gracie later this year, I don't care. It's not a title fight. The Octagon rules don't allow for Gracie to utilize his true skills. It's just a draw to sell tickets, won't mean much.

It might not be a title fight, but you can't tell me it won't be fun to watch. Gracie is the godfather of UFC. You've gotta admire a guy who can come out of retirement at nearly 40 years old and take on the current champ.

I can't wait to see the Ortiz/Shamrock fight after UF3. Ken is probably my favorite UFC fighter of all time, even though he lost shamefully to Franklin last time out. I hope he's been able to compose himself because I really want to see him smash in Tito's face. :)

I'm not looking forward to Gracie getting beat up by Hughes.

I'm withholding judgement on Ortiz but I think Shamrock is washed up. What has either done lately besides lose.

Shamrock lost to Franklin, but he won his fight against Kemo prior to that. He lost to Ortiz prior to that, but only due to a bad cut, IIRC. He went almost three full rounds before having the fight called.

Tito defeated Vitor Belfort at UFC 51 and Patrick Cote at UFC 50. Prior to that his only losses were to Couture and Liddell, who both went on to be champs. I'm not a Tito fan, but I recognize that he's still a tough bastard who knows what he's doing.

So, these guys may have been away for a while, and Shamrock isn't exactly young, but I definitely wouldn't call them washed up. I still think either of them could take 90% of the guys in the UFC without too much trouble. Especially people who are current fan faves like Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar (both of whom I like as well).

Bumping this thread now that the fights are over.

I was really rooting for Randy, but figured Liddell would win so it wasn't much of a shock. It seemed like there were quite a few upsets (not counting the main event). I was really bummed that we didn't get to see the Jardine / Whitehead fight. I really wanted to see if Mike would actually throw a punch or two this time. And the Diaz / Riggs fight was pretty awesome, IMO. Diaz looked SOOOOOOO bad by the second round. He could have been hit by a truck and come out better at the end of the night. And I'd definitely like to see more of the serial-killer looking monster from Olympia, WA. That guy looks like a complete animal.

I don't know if you'll find a torrent for this. I haven't seen one floating around, but haven't really looked very hard either.

Anyone have any more information on the Diaz/Riggs altercation?
