I have read the the instructions for MFS tools, but I'm still confused as to some of the terminology.

whats the deal with "blessed" drives.

and will the backup image made by MFS tools be able to be used as many times as I want.. EX; if I install a new (larger) drive and a year from now it fails, will I be able to write my saved image to a new drive and install that into my tivo?

Once you have a saved image, then yes you can keep using that image over and over and over again. There are restirctions about how many times an image can be expanded. For instance, if you make an image of your original drive, then expand it to a 120 GB drive, then make a backup image of that, then you may or may not be able to again expand that image to say a 250 GB drive. the whole "blessed" terminology applied to the earlier TiVos. This website (http://tivo.upgrade-instructions.com/index.php) is great for upgrading your drive. Also, questions about the upgrade process might be better answered in the Upgrade forum. :)
