A recent thread about the annoyance of Lost having so many interruptions during the season got me inspired to start a poll...
Would you rather have the season premiere of Lost be delayed until early January, and then each week have a guaranteed new episode w/ no interruptions? (like how 24 is now)
Or would you rather keep it like it is: Fall premiere, but many multi-week interruptions w/ re-runs.
Thanks for participating in the poll!
Breaks are fine with me, as long as they don't drag on to Prison Break proportions. Taking a week or two off builds anticipation and gives me a chance to catch up on other shows. In fact, when I told my wife that both DH and Lost were repeats this week, her response was "Good, maybe now we can get up to date."

I meant to choose "delay" but my mouse went all Benedict Arnold on me and chose "keep" instead. :(
I don't mind a holiday break, but showing a few new episodes then tossing in an old episode, or just disappearing it for a week, rinsing and repeat, I do NOT like. I feel like this season hasn't really started yet even though it's half over.

You should add a poll option for "I don't care I have TIVO!"

That's actually a good point! I could simply tivo say, the first 10 eps, then start watching an ep per week.
BUT then you have to be VERY careful not to get spoiled while it airs. Also you can't read the Lost threads here unless you want to get spoiled. :( Plus I would find it very difficult to not start watching when it airs in the fall. If it were simply not on, then it would be easier! :)

He's talking about the break between November and March. PB aired the first half of their season and then delayed the second half until much later. It was originally not supposed to resume until June, but the ratings were good enough that they decided to resume it "in season."

There have been MLB playoffs the last 2 months? :)
I think the poster meant they didn't want a 3-4 month break like Prison Break got. not that they were upset there were interruptions occassionally from baseball.
Edit: grr, devdogaz beat me to it :)

Worse is the various news outlets that will post "Spoilers" as a soon as a day after the show airs. A perfect example was a Headline that read:
Spoiled Rich Girl gets killed on Lost
(Note: Spoiler is for LOST this season)
This was in the News and Entertainment section of my Home Page when I logged in on the day following the episode airing. Glad I watched it.

Forget the reruns. Just broadcast something like The Sherman Hemsley Comedy Show during the hiatus.

I chose Delay, but, that doesn't apply for just Lost. I'd love to see a network do that. Let's have two seasons each year - Winter / Spring and Summer / Fall. Or, whatever the breakdown is. I wouldn't mind if Lost only appeared once a year, say Jan - Jun.
Perhaps it's not an easier way for networks to program. But, I'd rather see a complete season of episodes, all bundled together, with no interupts.
Then again, I have box sets of TV shows on DVD, so I can do that. And, I do have multiple episodes of TV shows sitting on my TiVo's (6 episodes each of Veronica Mars and Everwood sitting there right now). It makes it a lot more fun to watch a 'block' of episodes then have it spread out over 8 months.
Not going to happen.
It's only really worked with 24.
What if ABC decides to delay Lost to January, and in September NBC airs a show at the same time, and it catches on.
Once you have a big show like that that gets great ratings, the other networks almost concede the timeslot to you. Why screw with it.
