Does the IR port on back work?

Hi all,

Does the IR port on the back of my DTivos work? If so, is it an output only or or can it receive signals from my audio processor? I am looking for a wired solution to control my Tivo and all my other gear has IR in and out jacks.

The manual says "for future use" but it says the same about the serial port too.

Yea, you got it. "For future use." I too would love to hear a work-around on this one.

My series 1 Sony Sat T60 has an IR output port. It can be used to control some Sony VCRs when you do the Save To VCR function. It starts and stops the VCR automatically. I just wish I could get it to work with a DVD recorder. :)

So in reality, this is a "past usage" port. :D
