DirecTV Hughes DVR2

I'm new to this community and was hoping to get some help.

I'd like to be able to move some space off my DirecTV Hughes DVR to a PC. I noticed there is a USB port in the back of the box, but don't know if I can use that. I understand that TIVO Series 2 boxes allow for a simple data transfer just by connecting a USB Wireless adapter. What would I need to do to transfer recordings from my DirecTV Hughes DVR box to a PC?

Although DirecTV DVRs have USB ports they have not been enabled by DirecTV. There are hacks that can be done (see underground forum), but the easiest way would be to do an analog capture to your PC using some sort of internal or external video capturing device.
