I recorded the thing, and have tried to watch it three times and keep turning the volume down and playing with my computer, eventually stopping the playback altogether.
I don't know if it was just badly done, or the fact I know how it ends. (Or the fact that a few things in it got under my skin...like a passenger getting killed by a boxcutter.)
Anyone else watch this....or try to and end up NOT watching?

Are you talking about Anatomy of 911? I turned it off too zzz..too many interviews. I wanted more of an investigative play by play of the day.

I happened to see it on the guide and was a bit interested to see how they covered things, but expected it to be pretty bad since it was made for TV. I was kind of interested in the calls from the plane and how quickly American Airlines found out they had problems on the first plane. But my husband asked me to turn it off after about 15 minutes (when they showed the second plane hit the World Trade Center). Since it seemed to really bother him, I switched to something more upbeat I'd recorded on Tivo.

They have made a movie called Flight 93, which is based on the plane that crached in PA. I haven't caught it yet, but have heard it is good...

The Flight 93 movie on A&E was very good. It was told from the passenger's viewpoints, and the interaction between them and their families was extremely gutwrenching. It will be on several more times over the next few weeks, I believe.

I got caught up in it the other night, ended up staying up till 3am to watch it  . I had to work at 7, but it was that interesting and sad, but a great TV movie. Its worth checking out. Every commercial break, they said 'this movie is brought to you with few commercial interruptions’ but it seemed to be a break every 10 minutes like clockwork. blah! But good movie despite watching it on live TV.

Couldn't even watch the commercials. Too many bad memories of the day. Something about the ad with the woman calling on the phone seemed too real and immediately flashed me back to walking around NYC for hours trying to use my cell and standing in lines at pay phones. Had to 30ss or change the channel each time the commercial aired. I knew I wouldn't make it through the movie.

Read a good review of A&E movie a few days ago (in latest Entertainment Weekly?). So I have my TiVo set to record one of the airings. Figured I'd at least check it out. Hope it's not too treacly.

I'm not really interested. I lived through 9/11 and so much of what happened on that flight is speculation anyway.

Flight 93
I thought it was well written. They did a pretty good job of telling the story in bits and pieces. It really conveyed the helplessness of the passengers and the authorities. There were some bad actors in it though. The woman who played Elizabeth Wainio's stepmother was superb (she really got me teary eyed) but the woman who played Jeremy Glick's wife was killin me though
Like IJLT said, I don't think anybody's even sure what happened. or if it happend anywhere close to what the "official" story is.

I believe it was the Discovery Channel that presented a four hour documentary on the events leading up to 9/11. This included an almost minute by minute account of flight 93. I didn't think I needed to see a fictional account of it.

I watched about an hour and a half of it (the end). It was totally gutwrenching, even if the acting and production were kinda crap. They also kind of left it up to the viewer how the end happened minus a detail or two they guessed on their own.
The Verizon operator was the one that got to me the most. What a horrible thing she listened to that day.

I saw this movie and really enjoyed it! I know much of the movie was speculation but much of the movie is taken from interviews, phone calls, and transcripts. I highly recommend it!

I just watched "Flight 93" tonight and I must say that I think A&E did a remarkably good job on the movie.

I caught about 15 minutes of it Sunday morning. I had to turn it off because the part I caught was a wife leaving a message for her dh who was missing it because he wa in the shower and then a daughter saying goodbye to her mother who was trying to "stay in the present." I was already sobbing and knew I couldn't take any more.

I kept catching the movie about 30 minutes or so into it, so I've still not seen how the terrorists actually took over the plane. But I did set it to record sometime this week.
It was interesting to hear what I'm supposing were pretty close to the actual conversations with family members and the Verizon operator. You did have to feel for her. I'd totally forgotten that we'd heard they used hot water to attack the terrorists. Some of the acting was a bit too melodrammatic for me, but overall, I found it an informative show.

I'll chime in and agree with this.
If you are indeed talking about the new Flight 93 movie on A&E about the plane that crashed in PA, it was very well done, I thought. Obviously they have to take some license because nobody knows exactly what was said and done on the plane, but it was reconstructed from the recorded calls and all the accounts from the people on the plane who called their family members. Gutwrenching at times but well worth watching.
