Is there a way to get tivo to start recording and not stop until I say?

I know if you are on a channel that it has no data for you can record but it only goes for 30 min, if I am on a channel that has no data, can I get the Tivo to start recording for longer then 30 min?

You can set up a manual recording (time and channel), but there is an upper limit to how long it will record for. I don't recall what that is.
