Need advice. I am buying 42" HD flat screen with built in OTA tuner. Currently have an old directv Sony TIVO unit and regular format TV in the room where the HD is going. Sound through a 5.1 receiver. Have another Directv HD receiver and HD monitor. Can receive all HD network channels over the air. What is my next move? Love the TIVO unit, and can't do without.
1. Do I wait for a new HD DVR unit from Directv, just using my current Directv TIVO until it comes out?
2. Buy a new current HD Directv TIVO unit because I'll never get a TIVO from Directv again even though I won't be able to get any new HD programming from Directv?
3. Go out and get a new Regular definition TIVO, because mine is old, and if I get a new one I'll move the old one into the bedroom with my old TV. The old one will only have one input because I don't have a multi-switch or two cable outlets in the bedroom.
4. Ditch Directv. I can get charter cable. Not sure of my TIVO options if I do this, but do like the home networking ability.
5. Other Option.
