Sounds like a killing move to me:

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/cgi/pr.cgi?id=20060131wb02

That combined with the fact that they elected to unpick up the pilot for "Cult" from Rockne S. O'Bannon, it makes me wonder exactly what kind of young CW network we're going to see.

A dozen more "What I Like About You"s perhaps?

Yikes. That's close to a TSOD (time slot of death) if I've ever seen one. That would make it #4 on my priority list for that time slot, behind CSI, The OC (unless the wife is okay with cancelling that SP, which I'm working on), and MNIE. I can see the advantages of having a more natural lead-in with Smallville, but that's an extremely rough slot to get placed in.

What's "MNIE"?

What's "MNIE"?

My Name is Earl.

Which will be a tough choice for me. As much as I like Earl I'll choose Supernatural. I've gave up on CSI this season.

I don't know about where you live, but here in Boston, the local WB affiliate reshows Supernatural sometime on the weekend (Sundays at 9PM?)

Right now I have a four-way conflict Tuesdays at 9PM (Commander in Chief, Scrubs, House and Supernatural) and only three tuners, but all is OK, due to the extra showing....

...hmmm...Supernatural's new slot is fine by me (I only watch CSI), but I hope they do the extra-showing thing with Pepper Dennis (Supernatural's time-slot replacement)---I'm interested in watching it...I guess CiC is on hiatus for a while, so maybe it'll work out...

Unfortunately according to the article, Pepper will re-air Sunday at 9pm, probably doing away with Supernatural's re-airings as well.

Thursday's just fine with me; it's a graveyard for crappy shows right now (Will & Grace, OC, Survivor, ER, Without a Trace....I could go on).

I thought that the show was doing well in the ratings (at least in WB terms). Putting it in that timeslot can't be good.

I usually recorded the second airing, so it sucks that they are also dropping that.

I can see their reasoning. It's sort of a natural pairing with Smallville. And who knows what's gonna happen the network dissappears and morph into the "CW"? I imagine a total schedule shuffle.

It's actually the WB that shows the repeat as part of their Sunday lineup.

Local affilates seldom have the option of running a second showing of a network program.

I don't watch the show, but someone commented the other day (as in "an official spokesperson", I think) that in the new blended network, it'd be a...sorry..."NATURAL" partner for Smallville, making a "fantasy" night.

I remember when they did away with SMALLVILLE's "easyview" rerun...

Used to love seeing it aired a second time that same week. (This from a guy who'd been recording them all right from the start, and could have seen it as many times as he wanted on his own. :p )

Wasn't too happy when they switched to "Smallville: Beginnings" on Sundays.

Even less happy when they did away with the Sunday showings all together.

Nice little sheltie, by the way.

i'm glad apprentice moved to mondays or i'd have a OTA conflict with csi and apprentice (yes I record that in SD on the OTA because it's so much clearer than the SD directv signal)

So how is Supernatural lately? A few episoded kind of sucked, such as the insects episode and the asylum episode, and I ended up deleting the SP.

i watch it for the car..it was my 'first' :) And calling the toll free numbers they give is a hoot...my wife loves that aspect of it. Very interactive show.

I like it - it's not the best show in the world, but it's consistently the spookiest show on network TV right now, and it's entertaining enough to keep around.

Me and my wife enjoy the show alot..

The previous poster is correct about it being the spookiest show on TV.

As with most WB shows you have to filter through some bad episodes on occasion :)

Or, to put it another way, it's the spooky show on network TV right now! :D

I have a few of these queued up but we watched the "Scarecrow" one the other night, and it was a lot of fun: good scares :) Of course they always have to have the occasional stupid thing (like in "Scarecrow", would Sam really be walking around the orchard looking for Dean without even calling his name?) but to get good suspense you sometimes have to make small sacrificies in believability.

I agree that the bugs one was not very good (but just because the timeline was SO bad--I can suspend my disbelief only so far!!) I wanted to see the asylum one because that kind of thing I think can be really scary, but unfortunately during the holidays it fell off the end (I'm using a cheesy DVR from my cable company which sucks compared to my TiVo and has much less storage---but it does HD so...)

They have already stopped showing the Sunday repeat in my area and now it will be against CSI.

True enough Rob.. There really aren't any spooky shows that I can think.

Carnivale was kind of creepy but I wouldn't say spooky , but it's cool that this format has taken off. It's different..

CSI sux anyway. But I am worried about Supernatural because CSI aka Cancels Shows Indefentaly might or most likely cancel it. It happened with Point Pleasant and Night Stalker.

This does not make me happy at all. I like supernatural a lot it is just mindless fun. I already have earl, office and CSI at that time. I hate CSI but 2 family members love it. It will be a hard choice I am hoping to talk the family into choosing supernatural over CSI.

I honestly don't think this show could possibly get cancelled. It has really strong demo numbers with young girls and that demo is something the WB likes. Not to mention the head of the CW has specifically mentioned Supernatural as a 'strong' show on a few public addresses.

Actually. If Supernatural (http://www.supernaturalfans.com/) is still following Smallville, this spot will be GREAT!

and they may try to talk you into one of those 14.95 tivos directv is unloading :) a second unit really is the way to go if you can...even now I have occasional 5way conflicts but most of the time it's just 3-4 way

Carnivale was kind of creepy but I wouldn't say spooky , but it's cool that this format has taken off. It's different..Carnivale wasn't on network TV. If you're going to open up the discussion to cable, there is Masters of Horror on Showtime, which is usually much creepier than Supernatural. Supernatural is sugar coated creepy, which can still be fun, just not very scary to me.

Touche. I stopped watching Invasion because I was so bored with it, but I thought that it may have gotten spooky since then.

I saw the zombie episode of MoH. I thought it was very cheesy.

I saw the zombie episode of MoH. I thought it was very cheesy. The quality of Masters of Horror is very uneven, but there are some decent ones. The zombie one was pretty bad, but not the worst. Dance of The Dead (or something like that) was my favorite, but that one was more sci-fi than horror.

If you ever do watch Masters of Horror just don't read the guide data on your TiVo, because it almost always gives away way too much of the plot. If there is a big twist in the episode, they shouldn't give it away in the one sentence description in the guide. So stupid.

Supernatural may have the lowest budget for monsters in the history of television.
