Does anyone else think there fox feed is horrible?
out of all my locals or any channel for that matter Fox is really bad. I can see lines diagonally accross the screen.
I am in the Philadelphia Area. Is anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I could do. I doubt it but I figured I would ask.

I haven't seen Fox yet today, but Channel 6 in Philly has been driving me nuts. It's almost unwatchable, with the flickering and interference...

Not in the Pittsburgh DMA at least.
ABC does have a very very small amount of random "snow" though. Just a few white dots periodically diagonally across screen on two receivers. All other channels are just fine.

I have the same problem with fox. I also get the flickering on ABC. I was wondering if it was a problem with my R10 receiver.

I actually hate my Fox here (Youngstown, Ohio) it's from NY. But yet they say you can't have distant locals....figure that out.

Quality of locals varies from one DMA to another because DirecTV picks up the locals at separate facilities for each DMA. The method of reception varies from one DMA to another and even from one station to another within a DMA. Some stations are fed directly (by landlines), others by dedicated microwave links, and others by over-the-air (OTA) antennas. Particularly for stations received via OTA antennas, quality will vary depending on the location of the receive facility, including distance from the broadcast tower, size and quality of the receiving antenna, the presence of obstructions (buildings, hills, etc.), and so on. If you're seeing analog problems (ghosting, diagonal lines, snow, etc.), then it's almost certain that DirecTV is using an ordinary antenna to receive the station and that something is non-optimal about that setup. Everybody else viewing the same station via DirecTV will see exactly the same problem, but because the problems are specific to that station, viewers of the same network in another DMA won't see the same problems unless there happen to be similar problems in the other DMA.
