Hi all, this post is a follow-up to my other recent post which you can view here:.

http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=3730358#post3730358

I set up my HR10-250 yesterday (Mon., 1/30), and when I called D* to activate, to my TOTAL SURPRISE the CSR told me that the HD West coast waivers I had requested last Fri. were approved and in place!!!

But here's the thing:

I still HAVE NOT mounted the Triple LNB Phase III dish, I'm still connected to my old single dual LNB dish (I've just replaced my old UltimateTV receiver with the HR10-250). But I'm receiving the West coast CBS HD feed (CH 81) with this dish. The other network HD channels are not there as you would expect.

So how can the old dish which is pointed at Sat. 101 be receiving CH. 81 which I assumed was broadcast from Sat. 119?

Because it is not broadcasting from 119... it is from 101

The HD signals are accross all three SAT positions.

Ah, well that would be the logical answer wouldn't it (Duh!)?

The D* CSR tech I spoke to said all the HD signals originated from Sat.'s 119 & 110 only, and had no expaination for why I was receiving 81 on my old dish from the 101 Sat. He thought I might be catching a signal reflection considering I live in steep mountainous terrain at 9000ft. elevation in the Rockies. But if that were true I would be receiving more than just CH81 on the old dish... yes? Go figure!

edit: I just checked all the the channels in the HD package (72,73,74,76,78, & 79) and I'm not receiving these either (I gotta get that Triple Sat mounted!). So it's looking like the ONLY HD channel broadcasting from the 101 Sat. is West coast CBS CH81. I can't speak for the East coast nationals of course.

3 HD channels are carried on the satellites at 101 - Link (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa101.html).
10 HD channels are carried on the satellite at 109.8 - Link (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa110.html).
8 HD channels are carried on the satellite at 119 - Link (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa119.html).

Rad at the SatGuy's forum just gave the definitive answer:

"Well, according to http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/america.html 101 slot currently has channels 80, 81 and 82 on 101. D* loves to move stuff around all the time so while they might be there now at any time the could move to 110 or 119."

So yes, currently the only HD station I subscribe to broadcasting from Sat. 101 is CH81.

edit: Kudo's to you Robert, you got your post in just as I was posting this update. :)
