Does Tivo Desktop need access to the internet?

Just wondering if the Tivo Desktop program makes any calls to the internet? Does it send any info to TiVo over the internet that anyone knows of?

I believe the Windows version does some version checking if it has access to the internet. Never looked at the packets myself, but I'd be surprised if it included anything in the request.

Other than that, it doesn't phone home (although the TiVo itself does.)

I have seen a prompt for version 2.2 on my Win2K machine asking to run a version check over the internet.

The only reason I see it is due to my ZoneAlarm Pro flags it for my permission/denial.
