Heyas,
Just wondering what would happen if I went with the DVR4ME promo to get a used DVR added to my account. Currently, I have 2 DTivo's and 3 regular receivers. I pay the grandfathered $4.99 for the DVR service and no mirroring fees on the other machines.
If I go about adding on another receiver, will I have to pay a mirroring fee for it?

Each additional receiver and DVR is typically another 4.99 mirroring fee. How come don't you pay any mirroring fees? I suppose that only DirecTV can tell you if adding this DVR will trigger a mirroring.

He's probably a Primestar customer. DirecTV grandfathered the mirroring fee when they took over P*. However, adding the new DVR may incur a mirror fee on at least that one.

You'll almost certainly see your DVR fee go up to $5.99 month. When I recently added a receiver, I was told that would cause me to lose the $4.99 grandfathered fee. (I suspect all subs now paying the $4.99 DVR fee will pay $1 more starting March 1st, but that's a different subject).

We were a Primestar customer before they got bought by DTV but we only had one receiver back then. This past July we added 1 Tivo and 3 SD units. There's been no mirroring fee since adding those.
Perhaps there's some sort of flag on the account saying Primestar customer? If so, I should be able to order another unit and not have to pay a mirroring fee...
