View Full Version : copying to DVD
I have a Pioneer DVD recorder (DVR-810H). Often when copying a program to a DVD there is not enough room on one disc, and the copying must be done on 2 discs. The bulk of the recording is in "part 1", with whatever is remaining going to "part 2". Part 2 is usually very small, and this leaves empty space on the second DVD. I cannot find a way to be able to add more programming than "part 2 " to the second disc. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Thanks.

I've not had any luck with this either, but agree that there MUST be a way...

There isn't. The software doesn't allow you to add another show to the list, and the burner finalizes the disc so you can't do another session.

The least time consuming method would be plan ahead and record at a quality that will either fit on one disk or fill most of 2 disks so you don't feel you are wasting disks.
Another way would be to record on RWs, then use a PC to rip the RWs using DVD Shrink to recombine the two pieces and output a "shrunk" version that fits on one DVD. Then burn that to an R. This will take lots more time than the $.40/disk is worth.
