Remote Control Code

I moved a Phillips DirecTv DVR to the bedroom that has a Magnavox TV. I have tried all the codes for the peanut remote to operate the TV and none works.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Try some of the codes for Phillips TVs.

Not meaning to hijack this thread but I have a smiliar problem. Does anyone own a Zenith receiver and try to access it on the peanut remote? The list on TiVo does not include Zenith under A/V components, just TV's. I tried those codes to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I used the code search function of the DTV remote for 2 off-brand TVs and it found the correct code and now I can operate both of those TVs with the DirecTV remote.

CHeck the manual and it'll tell you how. I think it varies from unit to unit.

I've tried the Phillips brand codes and they didn't work either.

How does the search function work, I can't figure that one out.

To search:

1. press and hold DTV/Tivo & TV POWER until the light remains on
2. enter 0-9-9-9
3. keep pressing and releasing the CH UP key, each time a different TV power command is sent, when and if your TV goes off
4. press ENTER to lock code in

I had this problem with a Sansui television. It wasn't listed on Tivo. I called the Sansui company directly and asked them. They gave me a code that worked.

You may want to call them - they should know what code to use.

Dang it, those suggestions didn't work either.

I've had a dozen TV's over the years and have never had this problem.

I tried the auto-search, but after 10 minutes of pushing the channel up/down button, I gave up. Did i give up too early or what?

This is extremely frustrating to say the least.

Did you try calling Magnavox?

I too have a Magnavox (LCD HD) and tried calling. Their response "we do not manufacture the remote -- so we can not provide the code. Have you tried searching on the internet?"

I talked to them and got the same response.

They could care less, so I am boxing up their TV and taking it back.

Magnavox can kiss my @ss. I will NEVER buy another product from them or their suppliers.

Screw 'em.
