One Month User/Remote Question

Lovin' the TiVo! Want did I do without it? Well, maybe read, exercise, talk to friends, but I digress. :)

My remote changes channels SO SLOWLY! It takes 4-5 seconds before I see the new channel. There's a little "bounce" from the old to new channel once before the new one is "secure". I had real connection problems when I first set up the system and am relunctant to do any tinkering/resetting. Any ideas?

This is a basic problem with standalone TiVos using a cable or satellite box.

Look up your box in this thread and see if there are any hints for your situation.

Sounds just like mine. It doesn't really "bounce". What happens is it blacks out the screen during what it thinks is the time that the set top box is changing channels. However, if the box is a little slower than TiVo expects, the black out begins and ends before the box changes channels.

The problem only exists when watching live TV, and is absent in recordings. Have you set season passes for all (or most of) your shows?
