Extremely Noob Tivo to Go Question

Hello, I have a very simple question.

I know that I can use TTG to download tivo shows to my laptop over my wireless network to watch later, but can I also use it to have .mpg and .avi files stored on my computer to be shown over the network on my television, somehow using the tivo to facilitate this? Does the TTG software allow this?

Well, I did a little searching and see people talking about making these transfers, so I assume it possible. I guess I can figure out how by playing with the TTG software.

Yes, you can send MPG files that follow the format on the TiVo help pages:

AVI files would require you to use Galleon and it's transcoding option - which also requires a fairly high-end PC.

Or use Videora TiVo Converter to transcode .avi files and make them playable on the TiVo.
