Rebate Confusion: For New DirecTV Subscribers Only?

I'm confused about the rebate. The display at best buy says the rebate is for only new directv subscribers. However , the rebate form on bestbuy.com and directv.com says I only have to agree to a programming commitment. Which is it? I'm an existing DirecTV subscriber with my reliable SAT-T60 and would like to upgrade :-)

There's a rebate for existing customers.
You'll be sent the appropriate form with your bill after hardware activation.

There's a commitment with any new receiver activation. 1 yr for standard receivers, 2 years for DVRs or HD receivers.
