Yet another poll...
I figure this will be the best way to really get to the bottom of the make-up of the viewers that will be watching...
So here goes nothing....
Hopefully the poll choices will work for anyone answering....

Maybe and "Burn in Hell Fox!"
They canceled the only specialty show I watched. Celebrity boxing. Watching Tonya Harding beat the crap out of another woman was priceless and they deprived me of that.

I fear that it will be nothing but them highlighting injuries and pain, but I've got to give it a shot before I damn it.

I would just as soon watch paint dry. And we have to wait until March for Prison Break to start again?
BURN IN HELL FOX !!

Yeah, this show is the reason why we have to wait until March, isn't it? That right there guarantees a BIHFox, IMO.

you know I was looking at my To Do list and Fox has stoped showing most of its stuff so they can start showing 24, A Idol, Skateing, etc. Why can't they just stick with the fraking shows they have!!! Dam it I hate Fox

Figure skating and Nascar auto racing are exactly the same.
Every body watches them waiting for the accidents to happen!

Actually, I believe it's because they want to run the remaining episodes consecutively, without reruns, with the season finale airing during May sweeps. As a a result, they back-timed the start of the new episodes to March.
They need something to fill the gap until then, so they decided to go with skating celebrities (although as one story about the show pointed out, most of the skaters are more famous than their "celebrity" partners).

Very very occassionally I will watch figure skating or ice dancing but I have so many backed up episodes of good shows on my Tivo why waste my time? I did see the ad for this and the emphasis on people falling turned me way off.
Watch the Olympics, the skating at least will be good.

This would probably be my only reason for watching it. :o

If ANYBODY watches this show, then I can safely say that America has no taste and quality shows like Arrested Development and their ilk will never find sufficient ratings to succeed.

Don't judge a show by the what the stupid marketing people are doing to advertise it.

Well, as I look at those poll results, unless a lot of the BURN IN HELL FOX voters are also willing to be in that Maeby category, FOX has a stinker to be on their hands....
Not very good results for a show that is knocking a critical darling off the air, and helping to keep other high-buzz and high-ratings shows off the air at the same time.
But such is life if you are a FOX viewer. They feed us crap because someone buys it, or because it's cheaper than other crap that they want to feed us but which we don't eat/watch.

Are you happy now that you've crapped all over the show before it has even aired?

Uh, you have no idea what I answered in this poll, right?
And quite honestly, don't blame the messenger.
I put up the poll to see how many will honestly say that they're willing to give the show a chance, and the results of the poll are not impressive for anyone that hopes that the show gets a chance among viewers.
What the results seem to say -- as I said above -- is that people aren't gonna give this one a chance, and if that is the case, the FOX does have a ratings stinker on it's hands, no matter what the quality of the show is.
I think people will watch this for the same reason people watch NASCAR.....for the crashes. I'll also be watching to see how Debbie Gibson looks. :)

I wasn't going to watch it for the one reason it's a celebrity reality show.
But than it replaced AD and I'm just not going to watch it out of spite. ;)

Got to go with that 'burning' option.

Two points.
First, the poll results here are a very small sample.
And second, come on, this is TV. FOX shitcans the shows we all like to watch because of what I call the principle of Not Enough. Not Enough people in the demographics they want are watching.
If Arrested Development or Prison Break or any of the other shows were pulling in the numbers to keep them happy, they wouldn't have dropped this 'skein' in this slot, they would have kept on airing the regular show -- unless there's another reason like what getbak said:
Actually, I believe it's because they want to run the remaining episodes consecutively, without reruns, with the season finale airing during May sweeps. As a a result, they back-timed the start of the new episodes to March.
So the people here who are pissing and moaning about your shows being bumped, presumably because Not Enough people are watching them, are saying the show is going to be crap because the poll results say that Not Enough people will watch it.
Arguing in a circle much?
Perhaps FOX is not looking for your eyeballs with this show, perhaps they are looking for some other eyeballs instead, having determined that there are Not Enough of our eyeballs to make it worth their while.
Whether you, bdowell, want to see the show or not, and what your own poll answer is, is not relevant. The very fact that you made it a poll makes the thread a lightning rod for viewers who want to not watch the show, viewers who are pre-disposed to crap on it.
Thanks so much for inviting everybody to come out and crap all over figure skating again.

Watching Tonya Harding beat the crap out of another woman was priceless
Not just any woman, but Paula Jones. After that, Tonya Harding had the thanks of a grateful nation. :D
The best part of that fight was watching Paula try to call "time-out" in boxing gloves. That and watching her turn her back on Tonya and catch a punch right to the back of her head.

The purpose of a lightning rod is to take the lightning strike and direct it safely to ground so that things that one would rather not have struck by lightning don't get struck by lightning.
I would think that you, as a person who seems to not like people crapping on figure skating, would be glad that there is a seperate thread made just for crapping on figure skating so that you would not have to endure the crapping in the middle of threads made by and for people who like figure skating.
You say you knew this thread was going to be a skating crap-fest, yet you came in anyway.
If you willingly grab onto a lightning rod, you really can't complain when you get shocked.

Touche! ;)
On the other hand, the OP says that the intent of the thread was to really get to the bottom of the make-up of the viewers that will be watching...
If one really wants to know the make up of the viewers who will be watching, all the "I ain't gonna watch" comments are not relevant to the discussion. They are about the make up of the people who will NOT be watching.
My complaint is that the intent expressed in the OP is not congruous with the poll.
Apologies for crapping on your crapping. :D

Watch the Olympics, the skating at least will be good.
Actually, I am hoping that the pros on Skating with Celebrities will teach the celebrities some nice, easy, showy moves that are easy on the eye, moves that you will not see during the Olympics from now on because they don't score enough on the Code of Points, and putting in low-scoring moves wastes too much time.
