Just saw where the Sci-Fi channel has bought the rights to show the new series season one of Dr Who. Looks like they're planning on showing it Friday nights at 9 in March.

so there's no problem with the region code in your dvd player? I ask because I was thinking of ordering "Extras" from amazon.co.uk but haven't because I'm worried it won't play on my dvd player.

I went the bitorrent route to get season one and the Christmas special.
BTW, some US DVD players can be hacked quite easily to become region free.
Search for your player here and see if it has been posted.

I'll have to check into the DVDs. I never saw much of any season of Dr. Who.

Same here - was watching the episodes within a day or two of them airing in the UK - and without commercial interruption! Being a Brit, they are extra special to me and I was VERY impressed with Chris Eccleston as the new Doctor (no spoilers though).
