anyone else notice that directv is adding their own commericals thourghout the games on nhl - causing you to miss part of the live action? This happened 2x last nite during the Ranger- Oiler game. When they returned to the game, it was already in progress, so i rewound and it was a 1:10 of game action that was missed! And they did this twice!! The extra commecials are all Directv commercials - ppv, sports packages etc...

i'm pissed - i pay $159 for centre ice and they still tag on some commercials!! anyone else see this? is this kosher (legals too strong of a word!). i wonder what the nhl would say....

I saw those commercials also but they didnt cut into the games I was watching. It could have been MSG screwing up the timing since the Messier ceremony went way long and they ran it commercial free.

i agree, it did go way long- but i've seen this on other games too, not just last nite. they would have your typical national type commercial (oppenheimer funds, etc) but then followed with 3 directv specific commericals - very frustrating!

I have noticed that from time to time.

Unfortunately, last night my TiVo did not record any games and the history says it wasn't able to get a signal. It gets a signal fine today and the other TiVo recorded shows during the same period. :(

I think this is an isolated incident; we record all of the NHLCI games and watch a fair number of them, and I don't recall seeing anything as egregious as 1:10. As others have suggested, it's probably Mess' fault :)

I have to agree here. I watch A LOT of center ice and haven't seen anything that bad.

the thing is would you really notice? lets say you're watching and they rejoin the game in progress- you may not notice how much time had elapsed unless you were really paying attention. since i've seen this (extra commericals) happen PREVIOUS to the messier game i was paying close attention. When the broadcast resumed, right to live action, i then REWINDED to specifically see how much time was missed - and on both occasions - yes, it happened TWICE during the game --- it was over a minute of action each time.

just watched the hawks game from fri nite and the same thing happened - a bunch of directv commercials added after a normal run of commericals- missed nearly a minute of action.

Also, though I'm not sure if it is directv or indemand, but they are blocking out games that shouldn't be blocked out.

For example, the Ducks were playing in Ohio but the game wasn't on the local anaheim station (FSW ror FSW2) or national tv (OLN), but it was on the ohian local station (Fox Sports Ohio or something like that)... the package has it penciled in on one of the in demand channel, but when we sit down to watch it... blacked out on both the local ohian channel and the in demand channel.

Has anyone else ever talked to the directv people about in demand? they refuse to give out any kind of phone number.

happened again - rangers v leafs friday nite -- missed about 47 seconds of game action when dtv added a dtv PPV commercial. this is disgusting- we pay all this money for the Center Ice (not to mention the cost of dtv itself) and they still add extra commercials to these games - this is total BS
