I really dig Taylor...I mean she's no Summer, but I wouldn't mind a night full of tube socks and Fiona Apple and Taylor...of course.
Flipping Marissa. "Johny blah b lah blah...I don't want to leave Johny whine whine whine." Fer crying our loud. Please, Fox, kill her off. You can do one of those "Someone from the OC....will die" campaigns; you love that.

You've gotta love FOX..
They promote the return of Marissa's sister nonstop for over a month, and in the episode they claim she'll be back, that's right, she's not even mentioned.
No wonder AD blames FOX's marketing...

Marissa and her stupid problem with helping every hard luck case. First Oliver and now Johnny. Wah I have to hang out with poor little Johnny. ROFL Summer wanting Seth to offer himself up on a platter to Taylor! I'm Glad Taylor has some friends now and isn't a bitch like her Mom.

I'm getting tired of summer turning from hot sassy girl into country girl from Iowa. I don't mind the new attitude just the long and unrevealing clothes lol. I really enjoy The OC but I don't watch it for the amazing story lines. It's eye candy to me and it seems like it's gone from a giant lolly pop to a 5 cent jolly rancher. I mean come on I want more Wonder Woman scenes lol.

We know this has to be heading towards Julie marrying Summer's dad. Just do it already. I'm tired of the trailer park... though darned if that trailer park doesn't give me all sorts of scenarios for Marissa to die.
I really hope that we can bid farewell to Johnny now that "Marissa Cooper Graduates." (nice 90210 reference, and in the last episode, I spotted Summer wearing an actual Donna Martin Graduates shirt)
He is such a tool. Need ~$10k for an operation? Go rob a Quik-E-Mart, surely they will have that kind of cash in the till. Oh, and make sure not to wear a mask or anything.
Had some bad luck with your career? Rather than train harder for next year, why not whine, throw a tantrum, and have a pity party for yourself instead?
Ryan deserves a medal for not beating the crap out of that guy. And for not telling Marissa to STFU about Johnny.
Julie and Summer's dad hook up in 3...2... And if they get hitched, will Seth have a distant family relationship with Summer? Step step cousins perhaps?

Marisa is Seth's step aunt because Julie married his Grandfather. Then if Julie and Summer's dad get married then Summer and Marisa would become step sisters.
So wouldn't that mean that Seth would be dating his step step aunt?

As long as blood isn't involved who cares, its not incest. Doug maybe Gus the trailor park guy will take Marissa away never to be seen again. :D
I enjoy watching this show with my wife. I would enjoy it more, I think, if every episode was just Marissa and Summer on the beach in bikinis.

We already did this choosing stuff.
I'd choose Lindsey, Hailey, Summer, Kirsten, Theresa, Anna, Taylor, Casey, Julie, and Marissa, in that order.
Edited to correct spelling and add a few more.

Now let's see here:
Hailey, Summer, Kirsten (not Kristen), Theresa, Marissa, Anna (out in Pittsburgh), Lindsay, Julie.

FYI it's "winter" in the OC. You can't expect a skin show right now. Wait till the spring, then the clothes will start flying.

The storyline of Marissa getting kicked out is so stupid to begin with. How can she be kicked out of a school if she was never charged with anything? I understand it's private school and they could choose not to admit her if she applied but how can they kick her out for something that was ruled self defense? I guess it's true what the creator said an interview they do take liberties with believability but they really need us to buy in to enjoy it.

I'd buy in and enjoy it if they didn't take so many stupid liberties that were needed onmly because they have some really lazy writers.
The one liberty I'd grant them readily is if they wanted a space station toilet seat to fall down from the sky and pulverize Marissa.

Yeah. Nice nod to 90201. Also, I liked the nod to to Winona Ryder with the "Free Marissa" t-shirts. :)

I think its amazingly stupid that since Julie now lives in a trailer park, she now supposedly drinks beer, watches Nascar and eats pork rinds. WTF?

That would be awesome.
Now the new liberty we have to buy into is that her 7? 8? 9? year old sister is now 15?

I think we're supposed to believe she's reverting to type now that she's in familiar surroundings.
But yeah, otherwise it would be sort of stupid.

that and that everytime somebody knocks on her door she yells to "Gus" or whatever his name is....and it's never him.
This show used to be a Thursday night must-see.....I watched it Sunday night waiting for 24 to buffer...pretty soon I'll be lucky to watch it before the next episode airs.

Has this season been boring to anyone else? At least seasons one and two had some fun plots. To me this season is just--"Zzzzzz...." Sorry, what was I saying? ;)
I'm seriously close to dropping this show. Maybe I'll give it to the end of the season and if there isn't a good finale/cliffhanger, then it's drop time.
And please, no more Johnny. This episode seemed like a perfect ending to his character. There's really no need for him to be around anymore.

My wife and I used to look forward to this show - and usually watched it the night it was on after the proper 20 minute buffer to fast forward through commercials.
Now, we forget it is even on until we are looking through the Now Playing List and see it and say "Oh, yeah, we need to watch that when we have some time." It's also moved down the priority list in the SP manager. If it doesn't record, it won't really upset us like Everwood or Lost would. Even Numb3rs (which isn't that great this season) is higher for us.
I would say it's the lazy writing that is turning me off. The story lines are just so dumb and so predictable. There is nothing left to surprise us anymore. Julie Cooper Nichol and Summer's Dad - who can't see that one coming from a mile away. How about instead they have Summer or Marissa walking in on them doing their thing - with absolutely no hints at it. Shock everyone. Instead, they lead us to it like we are 5 and we need a predictable pattern to enjoy the show. Reminds me of Scooby Doo for my kids - you know exactly what's going to happen every time, but kids still love it. Well, I am not a kid - maybe the younger high school crowds like this format - but it is losing me fast.
Preview spoiler:
Maybe Katelyn coming back can spice things up - but it looks like she is just going for Johnny - that's really not that fun. So Marissa gets jealous and now we have Ryan and Marissa on the rocks again? How lame is that - been there, done that.
Also, Marissa's character is just so annoying. And every other character on the show puts up with it like its not that big of a deal. I used to not mind Marissa, now I can't stand her and how she treats Ryan. I don't need her to be killed off, but just let her be normal for a while. Why does she always have to do stuff that is so beyond stupid?
I just think The OC has run its course for me. It's kind of like Beverly Hills 90210 - I watched that show for the first 2 seasons. Then they started introducing bizarre story lines and all of these new characters and I lost interest. I started watching it again right before the end of the series, but it never was as good as the beginning.
I think it was inevitable. For a show like this, you have to constantly find new plots to write for and I just think they try to milk a show until it has totally run out of ideas and no one remembers it for what it used to be, but rather what it has become. At the end of 90210 most of the original cast was gone. Only a few were left, and that original dynamic is gone. Before too long we have college - is this the last season? How are they going to handle Seth/Summer at Brown and the Ryan/Marissa at Berkley? If they introduce some dumb plot line to keep them all in OC going to community college or something like that I will probably stop watching! I hope this season (and series) ends on a high note with all of them going to college and things going well for everyone. No cliffhanger for a possible future reunion or next season - don't show Luke hanging out in the wings - watching Marissa because he never got over her! Or show Teresa walking up to Ryan at graduation with a baby in tow and a puzzled look on his face. Don't do that FOX!

So are we just suppose to forget that Marissa's sister was like 8 when she was sent off to boarding school 2 seasons ago?

I'm actually surprised this show hasn't utilized this plot device earlier; they've almost used every other plot device imaginable. ;)

I thought she was 11 when she left. That would make her 13 or 14? Oh yeah, she's ready for the primetime now.

Not in this episode, but what happened to Jimmy Cooper?
Last I saw, he was getting his @$$ beat at the beach...then nothing. Either I missed an episode (which is possible) or they left us hanging.
I checked the episode guide on Fox and it appears around 302-305 he left to Hawaii. So the guys beat him up, he left, and they didn't go after his family? What kind of loan sharks are these guys?

IIRC the same episode that Jimmy got the crap beat out of him he also "set sail". I don't believe it was to Hawaii (that was the first time he left). I don't believe he said where he was going. That is where Marissa told him that he couldn't just keep going and coming back into her life and that if he left this time, it better be for good.

Hey, don't diss 90210 - that show is a classic for the ages. As for the cast changes, I think the show handled them way better than most shows do. Brenda was replaced by Val - a better and hotter villan. Dylan left the show for awhile and then had a dramatic return. The addition of Vanessa Marcil was casting genius!
Anyway, most of the changes happened well after the second season, so I think you were secretly watching all along!
I really enjoy The OC, but I do have to wonder why Fox stays loyal to the show despite its small cult audience. It seems out of character for the network (cough >Reunion< cough).

Yes, you are just supposed to forget. It's a time-honored soap convention -- children and young teens can be aged at least 10 years in 1-2 months so that they can be the next generation of triangulating hotties and hunks.
I watched General Hospital on MLK Day, for the first time in about a year. Emily, who was once played as a precocious teenager by Amber "Joan of Arcadia" Tamblyn, is now a mid-20s cutie who's romancing Sonny Corinthos. And Lulu Spencer, who was a toddler no more than three years ago, is now a teenager. And so it goes.
