Sound cuts out like every 2 mins on recorded and live material [Text View]

I have a Hughes Series 2 DirecTivo unit. The unit is set on digital as I have it connected to my receiver via optical cable. Everything else working fine coming out of my receiver like Xbox and DVD player I have setup in 5.1. Any ideas?

Disconnect and reconnect the optical from your Dtivo to the receiver. Perhaps a cleaning may also be in order.

A few sporadic cutouts over a period of time (hours or days, not minutes) is not uncommon with some local affiliates or live programming, but that is usually related to the signal origin, not DTV.

I can try that but the cut outs seem to be in a pattern of about 2 mins. I have reset the reciver too.
