A seemingly reliable source who works as a grip for the show claims that AD will resume production in July. No indication as to what network, but it seems like AD lives on.

Oh yay!! Hope it's for real. I've been saving all the eps on TiVo so I can re-watch at my convenience during the lean times.

Guarded optimism is the right approach but right now there isn't much to discerdit the source. The guy didn't hammer The OP or TWOP, he just posted it on some message board where there's a long history (since 2001) of him making posts (tons of which are non-AD related) and providing insight that no one other than someone with a severe case of The OC disorder would have available. I've been watching everything unfold daily since they cut down the episode reduction and I'm 85-90% sure that the guy is legit. Time will tell though.

The question was asked on Eonline today
From bonnie_lee: Any word on Arrested's fate?
Slightly conflicting words. I'm hearing from one source that ABC is "thisclose" to picking up Arrested. This source tells me that Mitch Hurwitz (AD producer) has been working with his writers to break out storyline ideas for another season for ABC. However, another source at ABC tells me "no way." Which leads me to the following conclusion: *#@%! I do know that ABC and Showtime are both interested (and chances are ABC will have more moolah to pony up), but nothing can happen until they officially cancel the show, so we'll have to wait just a smidge longer. Personally, I can't really see AD on ABC. (Can you? What would they pair it with?) But I don't care where it exists, just that it exists! And by the way, last week's episode was genius.
Isn't that a little strange to be producing in July? Isn't is usually the summer break when the actors can do movies?

No, that's about when shows start ramping up for the fall. The "summer break" is more like "late spring, early summer break."

Why all the skepticism? AD isn't exactly a show that warrants a lot of attention and hasn't been prone to false alarms in the past. Everytime we got word that there was an episode reduction, a renewal, interest from ABC/Showtime etc. it was always on point. I'm telling you the guy seems 100% reliable. I'm the shows biggest fan and I'm not claiming to have any relationship with anyone that works on the show. In fact, if that grip realized how much scrutiny he came under by people that don't even know him, he'd probably be pretty mad.
Fact is, he's a grip, listed as such on other shows (not AD), who posted the news on a guitar website (he also posted when the order was reduced and when he got a job before the second season), he explained what a grip does on numberous times in intimate detail and has been a member of that guitar site since 2001. Stop hating and just hold on to cautious optimism.

Yet another source confirms that things are looking good for prospective magicians everywhere.
the rumors about the grips is TRUE!
Production called today, they added a day of shooting. They told me the three main sets are staying up.
Something's happening, but they wouldn't cop to it.

But Conan called the 4-show block coming up the 'Season Finale' and didn't mention anything about NBC's Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony the same night.

So, do you think the EW thing can be taken above internet speculation due to it being a print publication or are they just regurgitating the internet speculation?

I think I'm finally going to be a bit optimistic.
Since there's always a THREAT of cancellation... but never an ACTUAL one... I'm going to now consider this show to be Westley, and FOX is the Dread Pirate Roberts.
"Funny show this week, I'll most likely cancel you in the morning."
:D
I think we'll be dealing with threats of cancellation all the time, no matter where it ends up... we just have to hope it's just threats.
