Can I use Home Media and TIVO to go with a Stand alone unit connected to a Sattelite?

I have three tivos connected using Home Media. I want to get 1 Dish network box and record shows to my stand alone Tivo. Will Stand alone box know that the signal came from a Sattellite source and restrict the Home Media Features????? I would like the TIVO to control the satellite box via serial cable.

There are no different restrictions on a SA box for a Satalite box, compared to a cable box or RF input. But check the forum for known issues with channel changing on certain dish recievers.

The TiVo won't know, or care, particularily where it came from. The only matter would be any copy protection, which is an issue from any pay source.

For Dish, you have IR only, BTW.
