I've seen a few releases regarding equipment like this for the past year... I do not see products like this ever becoming a mass produced consumer electronic. The amount of hard drive capacity needed is ridiculous... it will be many many many years before something like this is truly viable.

Unless there's some quantum leap in storage technology, and dramatic drop in $/GB, I tend to agree with you.
