Toshiba SD-H400 keeps power cycling - help!

This is a used TiVO I got for my dad for father's day. I hooked it up when I was home last week.

He went to watch something yesterday and I am not sure exactly what happened, maybe he shut it off and turned it back on or something. But he says that it says "powering up, just a few more moments" then an "almost there" message and then it goes back to the powering up message. And it just keeps doing this over and over. I had him unplug and then plug back in and the same thing keeps happening.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately it sounds like the drive is corrupted. He can unplug it for a while and let it sit and then plug it in again, but if this keeps happening, odds are the drive needs to be re-imaged, even replaced.
