I just sat down to watch the Rose Parade on Discovery HD and noticed the program is displaying Closed Captioning even though it is turned off on both the TV and Tivo.
The closed captioning is NOT being displayed on other channels including those which are showing KTLAs SD Feed (Travel channel for one)
I also checked the H20 and I am getting the same exact results..

Just check my DiscoverHD via the HR10... no CC here

There was a discussion of this problem (CC) here (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=6829251#post6829251) .

I've got it on NBC and ABC in HD. The ABC is MUCH better looking.

I didn't realise it was on Discovery HD, how was the coverage?

ABC was in HD, while NBC was not. Too bad ABC couldn't afford a few towels so their cameramen could wipe the lens :D
The Discovery HD feed was from KTLA, and was much, much better, even with the CC mishap for the first part of it. No commercials and 5.1 audio.
