Networking DSR 708 Wirelessly?

Hello,

I have had my Direct TV DSR708 (two of them) for about two years. I am just now trying to network them to my computer wirelessly. I know there are USB ports on the device, but not sure if this is useable. Any help would be great. Also, I notice a lot of talk about series 2 DVR is the DSR 708 a series 2.

The DirecTV TiVos do not support any networking features - this is DirecTV's choice. Hobbyists have found a way to make it work, but this requires opening the box and making modifications to the internal software. Do a Google search for "directv tivo hacking" to find another forum that discusses this.
