I'll count if it really gets close..but I think I must have more than 300 on one of mine.

There are a number of movies that I don't want to miss if they are ever on. I have a wishlist for each of them.

I knew I wasn't even in the running with less than 45 season pass / auto-recording wishlists. (Only 2 auto-recording wishlists)

Although partly that is because I turned off auto-recording on a bunch of my "hopeful" wishlists. So if I counted those as well it would be more like 100. (By "hopeful", I mean shows or episodes I'd like to see again, but don't expect to see soon.)

Tivo #1 has 129.
Tivo #1 has 129 too.. Wow, that's a big coincidence, since there's almost no overlap. (A few months ago I finally made most of my musician/band wishlists appear only on one Tivo so I'd have fewer unimportant things to nuke from the To Do list.. I don't want to make them first run only, but I have to nuke a lot of SNL reruns for example.)

Each has some dead shows, like The apprentice martha stewart -- oh ok, Tivo #1 now has 128.
But other shows like Project Greenlight, E Hollywood Hold 'Em. The oldest dead SP I have is for "Under One Roof", an OK reality show that UPN nuked without showing all of it!

Tivo - 133
Sony - 112
Toshiba - 18

All unique to allow for conflict resolution.

It must take alot of time for the TIVO the redo its database when you add or move a seasons pass with so many of them programmed. NO?

I checked tonight and I have about 380 wishlists on my old Series 1. Moving the bottom one up one spot took about 3 minutes before the menu came back.

(Of course, there may be additional processing time in background.)

Of course, there are very few matches to these wishlists since I'm using them to spot the next running of specific movies.

There are a number of movies that I don't want to miss if they are ever on. I have a wishlist for each of them. My old Series1 TiVo DVR is my primary movie-recording DVR. On it, I have Advanced WishLists so that I can have a single WishList for recent movies, one for movies with B-movie stars, one for movies with seyuu, one for movies with directors I like, and so forth.

My wife has 65 season passes in our Family Room Tivo. Personally I cannot find enought time in a week to watch that many shows. 300+, you folks must never remove the remote from your hand. ;)

Well, that's true, but not because of the 380 wishlists. I'm watching for movies that I want to see...I may only find one or two a week.

I have 37 season passes set up on my living room Tivo and my grand-daughter has 11 on her Tivo which is in our family room (mylie cyrus, disney, etc.). I find it quite difficult to watch what is being recorded now, I cannot imagine how long it takes to watch everything if you have 300+ season passes! Seems like overkill to me. I am a newbie who just purchased a hacked Tivo and am trying to learn what it will and will not do and how to do some of the hacking myself but most of what I read is pure gibberish to me. This forum needs a strictly newbie thread where a person can read up on what they need to do and how to do it in purely laymans terms.

I have current about 65 SPs, and that's after trimming them down from about 80 or so.

A better question is how many SP do you have for active programs. I have a number of SPs and WLs for shows that were canceled years ago, just in case they come back. :D

She posted that message 1 week after she joined TCF, which was about two weeks before you joined.

I have about 60, although a handful are for shows that we [probably] won't see again.

This is an issue that I have wondered about before, do other people leave programs on the SP list that are no longer being presented? I have several that I hope will come back and since they hurt nothing being there, I leave them there. I guess most of us really do think a lot alike!

its not the size of the season pass manager but the motions of the recordings that matters :D

The danger of a season pass is that it would not pick up the show coming back on a different channel. So I do leave a few season passes for a season maybe but then convert them to a Wishlist if I really do want to catch any chance of the show coming back "4400" is an example of one I made a wishlist.

When shows are cancelled that still have episodes to air, I move the season pass to, or very near, the TOP of the list. Heck, I think I have way over 10 old SPs on each Tivo. Usually I go prune them, but one of my S1s still has some really old ones. There was one not-very-good reality show that UPN cancelled ("Under One Roof"?) that I might still have as a SP.. maybe I finally nuked it.

(Though yesterday I actually nuked a bunch of "Kidnapped" and "What About Brian" episodes that I have had recorded... only because I know both are on DVD and Netflix has them... There's several hours of new stuff airing tonight when I'm not home so I wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose anything 'important'.. so finally sacrificed those shows that I'll rent on DVD some eon.)

I do exactly the same thing. Whenever I see a preview for an interesting movie hitting theaters, I throw it into a Wishlist. I know that EVENTUALLY, it will wind up on one of my premium movie channels, and by the time it does I might not remember what it is or that I wanted to see it. Most of my 50 or so Wishlists are sitting in waiting - ready to pounce. :)

I'm a big fan of Wishlists.

A high number of season passes or wishlists doesn't necessarily mean that you watch a lot of TV. Wishlists are generally one-shot deals if they're for specific movies. Obviously they'll record more shows if you have actors or directors thrown into the mix. Season passes are just that - seasonal. I have lots of season passes but many of them are for shows that only air something like 12 episodes a year (Rescue Me, The Closer, The Shield, etc.).

I still have season passes for shows that have long since been cancelled. I'm also missing season passes for shows that haven't aired in a while and I had to rebuild my season pass list for some reason or other and there's nothing in the guide for me to use to set up a new season pass until the show re-airs.

I use an HTPC with six ATSC tuners for recording all of my local OTA HD channels. I believe I recorded about 45 shows per week prior to the writer's strike. That doesn't take into account the 30 or 40 season passes I also have on my two S3 Tivos, many of which are currently being aired.

Personally, I'm enjoying the writer's strike because it's giving me some time to do things other than stare at the boob tube, which pleases the wife to no end.

I have about 150 on one Tivo and probably 50 or so on the other. A couple are for shows that have been cancelled. Others are off-season (shows run during the summer). I have a couple of duplicates to catch shows on different channels...I should probably just set up a wishlist in these cases. I tend to set up a SP for any show that looks remotely interesting. If I only record one episode, I likely won't get to watch it before the next episode airs and would end up missing that one so I just record all until I get a chance to decide if I like it or not.

yah - it means you just have a lot of TV to select from in Now Playing ;)
