Bell Expressvu and American cable

I am a Canadian ex-pat and have a Bell Expressvu satellite receiver and local cable programming from California. Now that Tivo has Canadian lineups available, I would love to be able to receive it but can't figure out how to get lineups for both. Is it possible?

I was told by Tivo that it isn't doable. :( What a bummer.
