Flight Suit up!!
Barney was great with week. Loved the multiple costumes so he could go after the hottest girl more than once. I don't think I would have passed up the Victoria Secret's party.
The blog has been updated and worth checking out:

I never watched this show before but I ended up watching last nights. I liked it. I ended up setting up a season pass, and found out the next episode is the Pilot so Im appearantly right on target.
I always love the Halloween episodes of shows, they do silly stuff. :)

I loved Barney having Danger Zone playing outside the apartment.
What's that left hand? Right hand sucks? I agree.

The scene with Barney as the devil trying to convince him to pee off the balcony, and the random guy dressed as an angel trying to convice him not to was hilarious.

Then he asked them if they had any weed. That was great. The more I think about it the more I liked this episode.

what a great new show! My favorite new show of the year.
How about this line from Barney's Blog:
I got Cinderella’s number early. I was afraid her melons would turn into pumpkins at midnight
LOL!

I liked the pic robin took of the gay pirate and his parot with the parrot on his shoulder.

Very funny ep. "Flight suit up" was great, as was having Danger Zone playing outside. The scenes with Robin/Mike and Marshall/Lily quickly started to drag, but Barney is shaping up as pure comedy gold.

You're right, you crazy pirate. The whole Robin and Mike thing was very annoying and not funny at all. And Marshall and Lily...we get it, you're one of those annoying couples no one likes to be around. Knock it off with the annoying baby talk, already. Me and the Dread Pirate Rob think you're a drag.

I didnt laugh much (or possibly at all) during this episode, but it was charming and good.

I thought it was an awesome episode. Barney is by far the best new character of the season. Soon as I heard the top gun music I knew the flight suit up line was coming and it was still funny as hell. Barney with 3 costumes so he could go after the chicks more than once was creative and funny as hell. The devil angel thing was funny as hell. What a great episode I want a barney centric episode asap.

Another great episode of a charming and funny show. Marshall and Lily are by far my least favorite characters though- I don't see them adding much to the show (esp. Marshall).
Have they established what Ted does for a living? It seems like he is a Yalie- just wondering what he does for work.
And I wish they had showed the slutty pumpkin costume!

Ted is a budding Architect according to the first show.

Barney is carrying this show... comPLETELY carrying the show. Granted, the rest of the characters are charming and all... and some of their interactions are fairly humorous, but Barney rules.

Neil Patrick Harris has always been a favorite actor of mine. I have seen him in some interesting roles and think he has a lot to offer any show.
He had his own show a few years ago. He was some sort of eccentric writer. BUT HE WAS FUNNY. No one seemed to watch it though. WHhahahahahaha.
I sure hope he becomes like JACK in Will and Grace. Almost has his own segment.

The thing that bothered me about Robin and Mike is they had been dating for 2 weeks. I'm not ready to be a we yet after two weeks.
I do like Lily and Marshall. I think Marshall has a lot to offer if they would ever let him go out.

That reminds me- after dating for just 2 weeks, Robin was talking about staying home and being naked as a Halloween costume...she is definitely no prude!
FYI I saw on imdb that Cobie Smulders (Robin) is only 23..she definitely looks older than that on the show.

Since my name is Robn, I find it odd when I hear my name on a show esp since it's not a super commonly used name. But the gal on there is sure cuter than me. Then again I'm a guy so...
Let's all give out some praise for Doogie Howser.....without it, NPH may never have gotten this great role.
All hail Doogie
And I agree. Better and better every week.

I thought it was pretty obvious that is what was going on with the slutty pumpkin storyline. I thought everyone would have caught that.

I caught onto that right away, but I didn't know it was intentional until I heard the vocal group at the roof party (what was the group called??) doo-wopping the Charlie Brown theme song...
I really love this show. It may fill the void left by Friends in my weekly line-up!!

I forget the name of the group on the show (probably fictional), but the thing about "Yalies and their acapella singing groups" is completely true.

This was the best episode since the pilot. I still feel something is off and they try too hard. The devil angel scene was classic.

"Snowsuit up"
"Flightsuit up"
Am I missing any?

I think it would be interesting to know who came up with (desided to use) that phrase and also the fingers-->eyes thing the other week.
I have heard interviews from various actors over the years where sometimes stuff like that is all in the writing and sometimes it comes from the actors making it up and then it is desided that it works great.
In other words is NPH lucky to have writers that come up with good stuff or is he a part of the creative team?
But hopefully the actor's won't take credit for lines that the writers actually wrote, or they may be given the shaft :)

ETA: DOH. I didn't see the second page of posts and smeeked quite badly. :(

I gave this show a shot this week after seeing countless promos. Alyson Hannigan is adorable and Neil Patrick Harris is a longtime favorite. Not that I didn't know this already, but sitcoms just aren't for me. I hated it... Found it unwatchable. Then came here and saw most of you loved it. Wow. To each his or her own. Maybe I'll have to give it a second shot and keep my mind more open.

If you don't like sitcoms, Echo, you won't like this show: might as well face it. This is a quitessential sitcom. It's just far funnier than most of them... but it's still a straight sitcom. It's not an original concept like Arrested Development or even Scrubs. And it's certainly not a dramedy like Sports Night.
That's OK. I don't like many sitcoms myself traditionally, but for a 20 minute quick laugh there are some really good ones out right now, after a long, long drought, and HIMYM isn't the best but it's probably in the top 10.
