I was actually just able to watch it recently via Netflix (had known about it for monthsbut never had the chance to grab the DVD's).

No, he is not kidding... there were three episodes that were filmed but never aired by FOX (don't know if they were included in the Sci-Fi reruns recently or not). I believe they were titled:

Trash
The Message
Heart of Gold

These were intended to be episodes 11, 12, and 13 respectively. Episode 14 was aired (Objects in Space).

All are on the DVD set and in intended (rather than [FOX] aired) order.
