In the women’s vault final, Team USA learned there is no such thing as a “sure thing.” McKayla Maroney of USA, who earlier in these Olympics stuck an amazing vault, was highly expected to come away with gold; however, her failed second vault – which became TiVo’s Top Moment for Day 9 – proved that there are no sure things: Romania’s Sandra Izbasa needed two perfect vaults to best Maroney and did just that, scoring a 15.196 and taking the gold. Track and field events dominated the rest of the Continue Reading

The final day of swimming went out with a bang, as the event secured the majority of the TiVo Top Moments for day 8.  Michael Phelps’s final Olympic race took 2 of the 5 TiVo Moments.  Team USA took gold and the Top TiVo Moment in the Men’s 4 x 100m medley relay.  Phelps’ Olympic career included a total of 18 Olympic medals and spanned 51 Olympic swims and nearly 10,000 meters in the pool. The USA women’s swimming “smiley club” took the 2nd Top Moment as they finished the Continue Reading

All eyes are on London and for better or worse, NBC has been bringing it to us live (or delayed) – just do a quick Google or Twitter search if you want the popular opinion on that subject. Of everything out there, we know you’ve been spending primetime watching a lot of swimming and gymnastics – and even some great performances by parents in the stands. And we’ve been watching what you’re watching. But there are some golden moments – literally – that haven’t made the Top 5 that we Continue Reading

Gymnastics ratings leapt off the charts of TiVo’s Top Moments for Day 6 of the London Olympics. The most-watched moment was Gabby Douglas winning the gold medal in the women’s gymnastics all-around final, followed by Douglas’s sparkling floor routine and Aly Raisman’s slip on the balance beam. Aly Raisman was Team USA’s last hope for a high score on balance beam. NBC commentators and American audiences cried out as Raisman flailed and lost her balance along with her claim to a medal. Another nail biting moment: Gabby Douglas’s unsuccessful challenge to the title of Aliya Continue Reading

Swimming once again provided dramatic highlights on Day 5 of the Olympic Games. USA’s Nathan Adrian took the top spot on the podium and the top spot for the most-watched moment of Wednesday’s primetime coverage. Adrian won the men’s 100m freestyle by a fingertip – a mere hundredth of a second was the margin of victory over Australian James Magnussen. Daniel Gyuta of Hungary set a new world record in the 200m  breaststroke, finishing ahead of the host country’s Michael Jamieson. Men’s gymnastics took center stage with a disappointing performance by John Orozco on Continue Reading

Women’s Gymnastics captured the top spots for the most-watched moments on Day 4 of the Olympic Games. McKayla Maroney came to London so she could dominate the vault. Last night, Maroney performed one of the most difficult and dangerous vaults and stuck a perfect landing, which landed her in first place on the TiVo Top Moments. Another highlight for American audiences was watching Russian gymnast, Anastasia Grishina, lose her balance while performing in the team artistic event. Americans gloated over the Russian team being brought to tears. Finally, between Maroney’s Continue Reading
