And again, Christina forgot her pants. But she remembered her studded leather diaper.
I'm in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest with my girlfriend and one or two friends.
I'm just looking for any pointers as for where to stay in the city, accommodations, where the beer tents are, which are the best, etc.
I've already found a website that has apartment rentals. That seems to make the most sense, is the most economical and will probably be the way we go.
We're also looking for ideas as to other places to visit on this trip which will be about two weeks in Europe.
Right now we're looking at doing Amsterdam, Berlin, Munich and Prague. I'd also consider going to Venice again although that may only be good with the GF. Anything else in between that would be better?
Oops. Mods, please move to HH.
After reading a few threads here..im at a total loss on how to maintain
the service i have now....this is just not right.
I got my first tivo back in 2004...loved it.
Got my second one for the wife 14 months ago...and both have the lifetime
subscription...the one for the wife is a dual tuner series 2.
at this time it will record two channels and be able to watch a third while
this is happening.
acording to comcast/xfinity the tivo wont work right after the digital UPGRADE that takes effect in a few months.
Ive been on the phone with comcast..tivo..and an outfit in LA that i got this tivo from brand new 14 months ago...im geting no help..i have heart problems
and this aint helping.
AT NO TIME DID I PURCHASE AN ANALOGE recorder.
I purchased a DVR ..digital video recorder.
Is there a class action suit against someone that i can join???
Or am i on my own and have to back charge on my credit card.
I paid over $700 for this tivo...only to be told GET lost after 14 months.
Anyone...what do i do ????
I switched from Comcast to Verizon FIOS today. When I signed up for their basic service (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.) it said that no cable card was needed.
When I re-run guided setup I pick the correct cable company but the channels it provides me are not correct. So I tried the scan feature on both cable and antenna (moving the cable over of course) and TiVo did not find any channels from either medium.
When I move the cable to my TV and run a scan, it finds the 40 channels.
Does this mean that I have to get a cable card for this to work? I was hoping to avoid the extra $4 a month charge.
I have the premier, had for about 1 year and it died, luckily I had the extended insurance. I have had the new one now for about 6 weeks and would like to get the lifetime on it but am afraid of this one dying.
If a tivo dies within the warranty period, and has a lifetime attached, will the replacement automatically be put under the lifetime?
Fearing another dead tivo is keeping me from getting the lifetime.

I order a tivo from woot it is the TCD746320. I wonder can it be used without tivo service?
I ask this since I need a hdtv tuner for my projector. I have over the air tv and do not care about the rec or anything else like the guide. I just want to be able to use it as a tuner. I have roku for the other things.
If it can not that is cool I will give it to the junk man. lol
Ever since I got a new Dell PC, whenever a program is transferring to the Tivo, the picture is jerky and everything runs slow.
I had to downgrade the NIC card from 1GBs to 10MBs. The programs now transfer fine, albeit slowly and of course the network on the PC is now slower.
I thought I could change the network speed on the port the Tivo is connected to in my router, but according to D-Link, I cannot do that.
I also tried the 100MBs setting, but that still causes jerkyness on the Tivo (although it's better)
Is there anything else I can do?
I have the stuck at 70% syndrome.
Read that doing a redo of the the sat guided set up
Up to now I had TiVo central and could watch
the programs I had recorded.
Now I can not get to it without completing the
Pushing the TiVo button does not get me out.
Can anyone help this lost soul?
Box is a Phillips DSR
PS I posted this in another thread but
did not want to trample his thread further.
I've got one of these units upgraded with a 250 gig drive I'd like to get rid of.
Comes with remote, manuals, and a new spare power supply. Lifetime sub.
Works great. $160 gets it on your doorstep in the lower 48.
Last night, the final four contestants on NBC’s The Voice strutted their stuff with three performances each. Our top watched TiVo moments tell the story. Christina and Chris Mann’s duet of “The Prayer,” came through as the top-ranked performance, with Jermain Paul’s solo rendition of “I Believe I Can Fly” close behind. However, Juliette Simms’ solo, [...]
I have noticed that certain channels that output digital sound (presumably Dolby Digital) cause my preamp to jump into a different mode (THX Ultra2) in which I can't hear the Tivo sound effects (bings and bongs). The sounds don't seem to come back until I get to a channel or screen that jumps back to the default mode (ProLogic IIX Movie Mode in my case).
I assume this is normal and unavoidable. I take it that the bings and bongs just aren't added into the digital feed? Anyway have a work around (not that it's a huge deal)?
Is there any way of finding out if an older TiVo Gray Peanut Remote would work with a newer Samsung HDTV without actually having it in hand and trying it?
I'm reluctant to buy an older TiVo unit if the remote won't even control power and volume on the TV.
Yes, I know it wouldn't be HD, but that's not an issue here.
I may switch back to DTV from Comcast. And I wanted to get the Tivo version. Does the DirecTv Tivo version have HD menus or is it an older Tivo Firmware that still uses SD menus?
Best line of the night:
Twenty years ago you had no power but you had balls. Now look at you. Selina: Yeah, now Ive got a dick and balls.
I hope the feud between Selena and FLOTUS becomes a running gag.
I also like her line to the preacher at the very end of the receiving line who likes to bake: "Christ has risen".
I couldn't quite tell if the girls in Hannah's office were messing with her or not. The eyebrows felt like they were playing a joke on her, but they seemed sincere when they were telling her what she should do about her terrible boyfriend.
The depiction of sexual harassment felt very much like the way it must happen frequently in everyday life all across America.
It felt like a real life situation when the boss told her to say something if the touching was something she didn't want and she still couldn't tell him to stop being a creep. She doesn't want to lose her job. It also felt reasonable when the women were telling her all the reasons they put up with his sexual harassment.
Similarly, Marnie isn't happy with Charlie, but can't bring herself to tear the band-aid off (or her limb) and just break up with him. It's easier to just go along with a crappy situation sometimes. At work or in a relationship. Same reason Hannah lets her b/f treat her like crap.
This looks to be a 3-part miniseries on Memorial Day Weekend. Interesting they got Bill Paxton and Kevin Costner for this but from the previews it looks really good.
Is it based on a book or just archive information about the feud?
I am interested in selling my Series 3 HD with lifetime service and the Tivo Wireless Adapter.
What's a realistic price to sell this for? And once I sell, how do I go about transferring the lifetime service to the buyer.
Please let me know. Thanks.
That church had some impressive production values.
I think it's safe to say the Uma Thurman experiment was a failure. The "Let Me Be Your Star" opening was painful both to watch and listen to (for once I agree with Ellis), and she descended into caricature and was simply not comfortable in this role. Katharine McPhee should be starring in that show, period, and it's encouraging that they've started the retooling process.
Clearly the Dev/Ivy thing is going to blow up at some point; honestly, I wish they'd explored this earlier, as it's so much better than the contrived Karen/Ivy tension we got for most of the season.
I think they're handling the Tom/Julia feud all wrong. The show was out of options and had to bring Michael back immediately, and my fear is that it'll take her most of next season to fully see it. Those two are also the most palatable relationship on the show, and I hate to see it at least partially derailed...particularly by something as stupid as another advance on Julia by Michael. What the hell are they thinking?
Thought Juliet was the strongest coming in, but Tony and Jermaine both outperformed her tonight imo. I really liked Tony tonight, and have him just edging out Jermaine. Juliet in 3rd and Chris a very distant 4th.
