PLACEHOLDER, PLEASE DONT POST ANYTHING IN THIS THREAD YET
Please do not use this thread for any discussion of the shows themselves.
This thread is only for posting of starting dates of shows (plus their networks) for the next season (Starting Sept 2012-ish).
Moved to a new location, FiOS came out and did the install (previous location was also FiOS). Worked on both my S3 and HD for about two weeks. Then I started noticing unbearable pixelation and sound dropouts on my S3. Went through every thread I could find (signal strength, attenuators, replacing coax).
Try as I might, I could NOT kickstart 54 my S3. So, as a last resort I decided since it was a 1TB drive to pull it and copy it via WINMFS to a 2TB drive.
Copy didn't work, "media inode errors" from the source drive, which seemed to confirm my hunch the drive was going. Grabbed the WINMFS image here on the forums for a fresh install.
ISSUE: I cannot get my cablecards (either) paired from Verizon. After putting the new drive in and did a clear and delete (twice, per some people in that thread). I just get the blue acquiring channels spinwheel. I've had verizon try to pair them 4 different times with no success. Have confirmed they are not entering the cablecard ID as the S/N and other goofy things like that.
The tivo itself works: I can transfer HD shows from my HD and watching them, connect to the tivo service, etc. But both my cards just flip between WAIT_SYNC and WAIT_TUNE. No OOB Messages counting.
Any ideas? I'm at my wits end!
loved manny's line about motels: ammenities declining when the 'h' changes to an 'm'. or something to that effect :)
AWESOME AWESOME Episode.
Sure, some of it sucked. And this season has really sucked. But it was so GREAT TO HAVE CHARLIE HARPER BACK!!!!!!!
Victoria ratted Conrad out to the feds as the real terrorist! She is going to clear David's name. Will Emily give her absolution for that?
So now Daniel knows his father is the real terrorist and that he framed David Clarke, and he is going to keep that info from his fiance and go along protecting the Grayson name.
Was it Emily who sent the anonymous tip about drugs in Charlotte's locker? I can't see Declan doing it.
What is Daniel going to do now that he knows his own mother arranged his beating?
The ex-party planner (her name escapes me) is just as conniving and willing to hurt anyone to advance herself as the Grayson's are.
Who is the white haired guy going to be?
My Tivo HD, with 1T Expander, reboots itself 2 or 3 times a day. It started about a month ago. Had the unit for couple of years without problem.
Tried to get into the Kickstart menu but pressing and holding pause at boot doesn't get me there so I can't run the test.
Hate to have to call support and spend an hour doing all the things I've done ten times over. I have the extended warranty so I should be covered, just a pain.
Well after a very happy 11.5 years with one or more series 1 TiVo's I'm moving over the Virgin Forum as the proud owner ( well renter ) of one of their TiVo boxes.
I'd just like to say thank you to all the people who's posts have helped me keep going , and the ALTEPG group for the past year, but HD recording and 3 at once have finally won me over. The Tivo's will be passed on to others one way or another, they're definitely not ready for the skip yet.
We just got rid of our DirecTv box and happily returned to Tivo on DirecTv. The remote works great all day and stops working sometime between 6pm and 7pm every evening. We installed on Saturday and it is now Wednesday and this has happened every single day. We also have a a Logitech Harmony remote set up with the devices and it works beautifully all day and also stops controlling Tivo every evening. Has anyone else experienced this? It is as if Tivo gets tired. Then it resets at night and works again until it is again exhausted. That is just my speculation. I believe it is the Tivo itself (or the problem is with DirecTv?) because both remotes work perfectly all day and both stop working at the same time and the Harmony continues to control other devices.
I am getting around 6Mbps on my Series 3, what kind of speed are people getting on their XL4?
Well, from looking around the internet, at least a few Series 1 SAT-T60s reset and won't show live TV today. My software is 3.1.0c2-01-1-011 and I can telnet into it. It cycles between 50% and 63% over and over again, but I can't view Live TV. It has been connected to a phone line for a long time.
I dusted off an newer Hughes HDVR2 (the 'original' Series 2 DirecTivo) and it is running fine.
Does anyone has a SAT-T60 that IS working? I'm sure there aren't a lot left.
With all apologies to Ninny, Hollie won the night. The judges are correct when they state that she is peaking at just the right time. Both songs were great but I can't help but remember that River Deep, Mountain High was the song that got Pia sent home last year. That scares me a little.
Skylar gets my second place vote based primarily on her cover of Fortunate Son. I liked the second song but not as much as the judges.
Jessica come in third despite me not loving her versions of either tune. But regardless of whether I loved them or not they both proved that she is a powerhouse vocalist who can get her growl on for Proud Mary and then sing ever so tender with You Are So Beautiful.
Joshua - I liked the first half of both songs until he started screeching then he lost me on both of them. Of course he racked up yet another standing ovation, which if Skylar's count last week was right would make his 13th of the season.
Phillip - Phillip's lack of range and variety is becoming more apparent with each show that passes. Like last week I think he used backup vocalists to help mask the fact that he can't reliably hit the high notes as needed in Time of The Season.
Both Phillip and Joshua also gets points removed for the absolute awkwardness of their pre duet interview. Apparently Joshua forgot that he had to talk into the mic and not mumble.
Joshua also loses points for a bizarre, female style, plunging neckline on his shirt.
Honestly I do not know who will go home. I know that as usual I want Joshua to go home, if not Joshua then phillip.
Jessica has the most consistantly strong voice. Skylar and Hollie are peaking at the right time and have the best personalities.I would have no problem with them being the final three although if Phillip is getting the teen female votes then he may spoil it.
At this stage of the game though, win or lose, I think they are probably all assured of getting an album released.
JVDB in the Guy Ritchie movie was great! And I now wish he would be on next season's DWTS.
Boo-fricken-hoo. Cry baby Kat.
That girl is STOOOOOPID. With a capital STOOO. What did she expect was going to happen?
And did anyone else find the relationship with her cousin kinda creepy?
The fan on my tivo premier TCD746320 has started to hum tonight. I know it's the fan, because I was able to stop the fan (and the offending noise) momentarily using a QTip. What fan is recommended as a replacement. The screw holes on my fan are 40mm on center. I have not taken it apart to determine how many wires are attached. Would appreciate any assistance.
..starts tonight 1 am CDT.
I have three Premiers and a couple of old series 2 machines scattered through the house all connected via cat5. The oldest Premier (about a year or so) will suddenly revert back to calling itself that TSN number again.
i go online to tivo and rename back and everything is good for a month or so and then reverts back the TSN number.
all the others fine. all the machines are visible on the network and all of them have internet access.
any clues on what's going here?
I'm still on the fence towards upgrading from my existing Comcast DVR to a premiere. One factor for me might also be energy use. Does anyone happen to know, or even better have measured for yourself how much power the Premiere draws? I assume it's always on, but if there is any type of standby mode (I don't recal there was with my S2), it would be good to get a draw value for that too. Thanks!!
My theater room is pretty dark during the day. Of particular relevance here, it's too dark to see the keys on my slide remote very well. However, the backlight will not turn on. I had to go into an almost pitch black room to confirm that the backlight was even working.
Couple questions: 1) I assume there's no way to make the backlight come on sooner by adjusting the threshold or anything; 2) can I cover up the light sensor to get the backlight to come on and, if so, where is it?
Do people put their Tivo Premiers into Standby mode when they're done using them? If so, is there a remote shortcut key for that? If not, how long does it take for that to happen automatically when the box is not in use?
Also, if there's no shortcut key on the remote, does anyone have the hex codes or another suggestion for getting a standby command into a sophisticated universal remote (I have an MX-900)?
