I am not sure if this is the same as other topics on the forum. I know it was similar to some I read, but was not sure if their issue was identical. Please let me know if a previous thread addressed my issue.
Since about January of this year, I started receiving a message on the bottom of the 'Now Playing' and 'Find Programs' screens warning that my programming will run out on a date, usually a week away, and that I needed to connect to the tivo service. I see that the last connection was successful and then do a service connection successfully. I also search for shows both by channel and date, and can see programming available beyond the warning date.
The first time it happened, I restarted the tivo and the message went away. A couple of weeks later, the message came back with a new date. Again, a service connection is successful, I can see programs beyond the warning date, and a restart causes the message goes away.
A couple weeks later, the message came back. I ignored it and received a message warning me to connect to the service. The day the 'warning date' came, I was not able to search for any shows, even though I was able to the day before. A restart fixed it. My concern is that it happens every few weeks. Up until January, this happened about every six to nine months since I bought my tivo in early 2009.
I have the R65216 model with a 1TB WD external hard drive. I wanted to know if this is common for the tivo model I have, and if there is anything I can do to fix it or expect to restart my tivo every two to three weeks. Thanks.
does anyone with cox know if we changed from a cable box to a cable card would we loose our bundle discount of a free premium channel?
I can't get a straight answer from cox.
There is a thread for shows that people expected to like and didn't. This thread is for shows that you expected to dislike but were willing to try out and liked.
Smash is one for me. I watched the pilot and thought this looks OK. I collected all of the season but a few shows that had not been aired yet. I am throughly enjoying it. I know nothing about Broadway and the names they drop. Ironically, they dropped the name Neaderlander and then an ad came up for a musical that will be playing in Los Angeles, a Neaderlander production. So they are dropping real names.
Missing is another one. The premise sounds lame but I stuck with it after the pilot and enjoy it. I am hoping it comes to a conclusion since it has been canceled.
Glee - my sister was watching an episode. I ended up catching up using Netflix and then a basic cable channel repeated the entire run. I don't enjoy it as much as at first but still do.
Once Upon a Time has grown on me and so has Grimm.
Despite feeling that it was probably for those that still felt the need to watch live TV, I thought I'd have a look.
As I thought; not for me.
However, I was surprised to discover that I could change channel from Android using it!
Anyone investigated this?
I really want TiVoWeb like access, but buying an iPad just for this is an overkill.
Some access was revoked at the software update - thanks VM! But it seems that there is a non-apple platform still allowed.
I am happy to pcap the traffic (once I've retrieved a hub from my work locker), but have no skill to write the necessary code (Android or html).
Can I transfer my recording from a non hacked sd dvr 80 to a hard drive I built using instantcake?

Friday i take the deposits to the bank and one of them was $550 short. I did not take the money and my area manager knows I did not take the money but the owner said to fire everyone involved. To make things worse I had two interviews scheduled for Friday one at 10am and one at 1:30pm and had to cancel them because my shift manager had to go to the hospital because her boyfriend (who I am pretty sure is the one that stole the money) ran her over with her car while she was trying to get him to give it back and there was no one else that could work for her. I really need to learn not to answer my phone. Of course the two jobs will not reschedule the interview as calling off from an interview is the ultimate sin of job hunting. My area manager told me to use him as a reference. Of course now I have to lie about why I left or no one will hire me out of fear that I am a thief. I am a terrible at lying. Thanks for reading. I just felt like whining about it to someone.
I am having issues connecting a Direct TV Tivo with a DVD Recorder.
Here is my equipment:
1 - Direct TV Tivo
2 - Visio LCD TV
3 - Magnavox DVD Recorder
All three pieces have connetion for the standard Red-Yellow-White cabling.
What I am trying to do is view the recorded show and record it onto DVD.
I have called Direct TV and all they give me are excuses.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Ok so since that last major update a couple of months back every time now when I press my pause button or stop a program and go to delete it, I get spammed with ads for woollight or staying at the hilton or some other crap I dont want to see.
Im sorry but I pay 20 bucks a month times 3 TiVo Premieres, I do not want to be pushed ads. Especially since 2 of the boxes are used by my 6 year old that clicks on the by mistake.
And you cant say well Tivo needs it to make money. I would rather them up my bill by a couple of bucks then get spammed with ads.
Ive already called customer care and they scratch their heads because they show me as opt'd out for them. I press the down arrow on the but that just temporarily hides them.
I had my boxes 8 months prior to that last big update and never had this problem. Ive searched and can not find away to do away with them.
I have a Tivo Premium XL. Recently, I hit 98% and it started cutting off the beginnings of shows, usually by one to five minutes, but sometimes much more. I deleted a bunch of things and reduced it to 88%, hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't--it's still cutting off the beginnings of all my shows. Does anyone know what the problem is? It seems there are a lot of problems with shows cutting off at the end but not the beginning.
I have 2 Tivo HDs and 2 Premieres...2 days ago both of my HD's stoped working over HDMI. I checked the cable and the tv and the premieres worked fine on these tvs/cables.
Just seems strange that the two HD have the same issue at the same time.
After rebooting, I get the welcome screen but when it goes dark as the harddrive goes live I get the lost signal message.
Tried all of it. Power cycle, resetting the cables, even unpluging the TV.
My wife and I are really going to miss this show. It was consistently LOL funny for 60 minutes. It was easy to miss a joke or reference because they were coming at you so fast.
I thought I'd start a thread that compiles all of the pickups, renewals, and cancellations for ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and CW. I'll update as needed. We can later add the fall schedules as they are released. Let me know if I've missed anything.

So I've got a Premiere Elite that is showing 2% disk usage used. Great!
I use PyTivo to transfer content to the Tivo constantly. I usually use Push and just leave it and go on my way. Checked this morning and only about half the content I pushed last night got transferred over. Went to Pull the content this morning and it said the disk was full.
Even with only showing 2% usage.
So I went to the recently deleted and manually removed about 30 programs (hit clear, got the prompt "are you really sure", click Yes, then repeat about 30 times). Went to go transfer again and it transferred just fine.
I know the Tivo is supposed to manage all that itself and for recording season passes I'm assuming it really is, but apparently for PyTivo it doesn't? Anyone know how to get around this or how to clear all out of the Recently Deleted folder all at once (there are well over 200 items in there right now)?
Does anyone know when they will finally move us into a full HD interface? It's frustrating to me that every time I go into settings or manage my season passes that the unit flips over into the old school SD interface. Do we have any idea when if ever they will finally move everything over?
So who thinks there might be another season in the works? The Alpha said "see you next season" as the Winchesters were leaving his house. Also, I don't see how they can wrap everything up in the one episode that's left.
I have a somewhat unusual FiOS setup.
I have my TV and Phone on one ONT (residential) (there is "internet present here for the FiOS STB" but not usable for anything else).
My internet is on a separate ONT (small business) which provides the normal internet for my house.
So, a Tivo Elite would be connected to Moca (through the FiOS coax connection) but I would also want it connected to ethernet for use with Tivo Transfer to my computers, etc.
If it bridges those two networks it would be a bad thing as both have their own DHCP servers. Or, will the Tivo multihome and have unique IP addresses on both networks.
So, is there a away to disable the Moca and have it just use the Ethernet even when Moca is present on the coax input?
I may get a second Elite and Tivo to Tivo streaming would also happen over ethernet, not Moca.
Hoping too many network interfaces isn't actually a bad thing.
I have an old style tv (with the huge back) AT&T u-verse and a philips series 1 with lifetime. I am looking into getting a Roku box because I have Amazon prime and would be able to stream the videos. My question is, doe sanyone know if the roku box will work with the above mentioned electronics?
OK this is a strange one that I haven't seen in my almost 4 years of Tivo HD use - the Nationwide race on ESPN2 last night didn't record because Tivo said that 'the channel was not authorized, I didn't pay for the event, or it was not available in my area'.
ESPN2 works fine of course, I just tuned it again with no problem. I can only surmise that somehow a PPV flag was set on the broadcast by mistake by Comcast or someone else, or somehow my Cablecard auth got messed up even though everything else recorded fine last night (Fringe and other shows). It certainly wasn't blacked out and I've never had a problem with any race recording before. Anyone else seen this? I'm on Comcast in the ATL.
I will be changing cable companies soon due to moving to a different town. How will that affect my season passes? Will I have to reinput all of them or will they just change to the new channels?
