I was just wondering... is there any way to start a transfer for a recording that is STILL in the process of recording or does you HAVE to wait until a recording has finished?
My Routers are starting to die a little. Time to start thinking of replacements.
Here is the current configuration
Dlink DAP - 825
- Primary Router
- Wireless G Network Running on 2.4 Ghz AP
Dlink DAP - 825
- Wireless N Network 5 ghz AP
Dlink DAP - 1522
- Wireless Bridge for TIVO HD and Premiere's
Have been looking at Routers
- Asus Black Diamond RT-N66U
- Netgear N900 Series
Anybody have any thoughts on what they prefer and works best for Bridging.
I know I kow MOCA but where the routers are located is a royal pain in the ass to run a Cable Cord to.
Any advice is appreciated
Does anyone else w/ the new DirecTV HD Tivo Unit have problems getting the MLB Extra Innings channels?
I get all of my other channels fine, and the MLB Extra Innings Channels show up fine on my other receivers (non-TiVo)--just not on the TiVo unit.
I have called DirecTV three times on this and they are clueless. Last night, a technician was able to resend a signal that got it working, but today it's back to the same problems. All that shows up on the screen is the DTV logo.
Anyone else had this experience?
Looking to contact some one in the Tampa Bay area that uses pyTivo with windows 7.
Fans of the original Dallas series will never forget that line and TV historians will never forget what that scene did for television. It’s been said that the final scene of the season in 1980, where Larry Hagman’s character J.R. Ewing was shot by an unknown assailant, is one of the most unforgettable cliffhangers in prime time dramatic television. Dallas is also commonly credited with helping to popularize the trend in the US to end a television season with a cliffhanger. With the first season of the Dallas TNT reboot Continue Reading
A new comedy called Go On starring Matthew Perry (from Friends and Studio 60) premiers tonight on NBC at 11:04 pm (EDT) after the Olympic coverage ends.
It got a good review in the Boston Globe, and since there's little in the way of non-repeats on right now, I'm going to give it a try.
Anyone heard anything about it?
My parents gave me their lifetime s3 tivo a while back after it died. My girlfriend and I have been wanting to upgrade from a single tuner, so I was pretty excited when I found the thread about how a lot of these have bad power psus. So I bought a decent soldering station and replaced 11 of the 15 caps on the psu. Fired it up and hard drive was clicking badly. Went to microcenter and picked up a wd10earx (1tb) drive and used an image from unitron i found. i used winmfs.
It never makes it out of powering up screen. Ive tried several times and nothing. It does the same thing when the hd is unpluged. could it be a bad cable? or even a bad hd? any ideas?
:( Yesterday evening our S3 OLED went into an endless reboot cycle. It gives us the "Wait, Powering Up" screen for a couple minutes, and then boots again, with same result. I tried to do a kickstart, but it just reboots to the same cycle after I enter the kickstart code. Does this simply mean that the hard drive is completely dead? Or is it just mostly dead, with a chance of being saved (would hate to lose all those shows)? Is there maybe something else going on with the tivo itself?
The unit has a lifetime sub, and quite honestly I like it much better than our premiere, so I'd like to save it. If it is simply a case of replacing the hard drive and all will be well, does anyone have a disk image for model 648250B, and is it difficult to do? If it is not difficult, I'd rather do it myself to save some cost.
Led by Aly Raisman, the USA women’s gymnastics team continued to dominate TiVo’s most-watched moments on Day 11 of the London Olympics. In the women’s balance beam finals, the bronze medal came down to a tie between Raisman and Romania’s Catalina Ponor, in which the winner was decided by who had the higher execution score. Raisman’s higher score allowed her to top Ponor for bronze on the beam, but the two continued their competition in the next televised event. In the women’s floor exercise finals, Raisman nailed one of her Continue Reading
Heard some clips and they have been good.
Tom Arnold makes an appearance
I hope this is an appropriate forum to post this to.
I have read through various threads but would like an opportunity to present my specific situation.
I have a S3 HD (652160).
The hard drive died.
I read various posts about using 2TB drives but decided to try.
I am using a Hitachi Deskstar (I can't find a "model" number on it).
I downloaded "652_gset.tbk" from a link in a thread on this forum, and got WinMFS.
DURING the process, I told it NOT to limit the partition size.
I also supersized it.
I'm in TWC country, and have a multi cable card and tuning adapter.
When first powered up, it seemed happy.
It got as far as asking my zip code, and downloading guide info.
It then rebooted when I pressed select to move on.
After several attempts, it finally stated there was a hardware problem (this was in a "messages and settings" menu section.
I tried rebooting with the cable card removed but it just kept restarting during the "just a few more minutes" phase.
I tried kickstart codes 54, 57 and 58.
54 did the SMART test and the drive passed (good thing as it's brand new!).
58 installed an update (not sure if it actually finished).
57 did a GSOD and said it was going to try to fix the hardware issue.
I walked away since it said it might take several hours, but after about one hour, it was in a reboot cycle again.
So, to make a long inquiry short, should I have limited the partition size? Did I use the wrong backup file? Or is there something else I need to look into?
I called Tivo to do a change of ownership on an eBayed, LT HD.
The rep told me that in a month or two, Tivo was going to replace the XL4 with a "Premiere 4". He said that it would have four tuners and Moca but only a 500GB hard drive. He also said that WE could purchase it for $250. Isn't that the Q for RCN subscribers?
Are they going to offer the Elite/XL4 to us, with a 500GB hard drive, sell it for $250 and call it "Premiere 4"?
The rep said that they had a meeting about this two days ago and that they never told them NOT to tell any customers so.....
I have had Tivo's forever it seems and I have dealt with them many, many times but, this sounds strange to me. I'm sure that he has his facts mixed up but this is what he told me.
Episode 1 of Season 2 is scheduled for Monday, August 13 2012 at 10PM EDT.
I would like to program my TiVo remote so that the Power button controls the power for both my AV Receiver and my Television. My Television uses a standard single power button to toggle the power, however my AV Receiver has one button for "On" and a second button for "Off".
I'd like to program the TiVo remote so that the first press of the Power button sends out the TV toggle code and the AV Receiver On code, while the second press of the button sends out the TV Toggle code and the AV Receiver Off code.
Is there a way to tell the TiVo remote the difference between a power on and a power off code?
There has to be a way to do this because my older peanut remote does this just fine. I just can't remember how I programmed.
Does tivo give a week or any kind of trial period to see if used tivo works?
I have a TiVo Premiere XL4 (with a Slide remote) in a room with three computers and the remote is very sluggish to respond. Sometimes it takes three or four clicks to register on the screen. Sometimes the clicks seem to queue up and get transmitted all at the same time. Sometimes the click gets stuck and keeps trying to go to the left/right, etc. (whatever button I pushed). I switched to a regular remote and have the same problem. This problem also was evident on the previous TiVo in this room (an HD). A have another TiVo in another room with no computers in it and am not having this problem. I think that maybe there is EM interference causing this. Any suggestions?
Since they still seem to be taking their time coming up with judges for the next season of American Idol, I'm wondering who the crowd here at TCF would suggest would make good judges for the show?
yeah, yeah, I know, who cares? The show is aging quickly, and losing its relevance, but depending on the judge(s) that are cast, it might regain a little steam, so who would you all suggest?
My own suggestion, given a rumor that country artists Brad Paisley and Toby Keith were both apparently under consideration (depending on whom you believe/read), would be another country artist - one that got in some trouble recently for having negative comments about how these sorts of reality shows seem to have cheapened the business and/or left behind artists that had gone through the grind while others surged ahead based on their participation in these shows - Eric Church. I figure he's outspoken enough to call a bad performance bad (if he even settled for that word, as he's more likely to call it crap, or something far worse :D)
Not that I personally have been watching Idol lately, but I might tune in for a while if a decent judge is picked, as it might rejuvenate the show a bit.
I know I would definitely not be interested in seeing someone like one of the Jonas Brothers doing the job. I'd much prefer someone that had been in the industry for a while, as well as preferring someone that would speak the harsh truth. Something tells me that the Jonas types would never be that mean or controversial.
When they showed the screenshot of Jinks' personnel record, there was a big QR code, so I scanned it and got this:
Steven Jinks (W13 Agent NXN43772632-30032). Murdered by Walter Sykes. Revived.
I just changed providers from Cablevision to Verizon Fios. How to I change/update the guide data to reflect the new channel lineup?
Monday, August 6 was an uneven night of Olympic competition on NBC during primetime. For 41 minutes, between 10:24-11:04 PM coverage focused on the women’s uneven bars competition and all top five moments occurred during this timeframe. The London Games presented a solid cross-section of events last night. There was the USA-Latvia men’s beach volleyball competition with Latvia securing the win and sending the USA home medal less in the event. There was also plenty of gritty men’s cycling competition to watch with home country Great Britain securing the gold. Continue Reading
