Has anyone had any luck getting the $99 lifetime offer recently? I called to cancel but they would only do lifetime for $200. I got my Series3 HD in 2009, do you guys think it's a good deal or should I call again and try a different rep? I am on the yearly plan of $129 so I would pay $70 extra for the lifetime sub.
the My TiVo site is slow, if I click through to email for support I get a 404. took over a minute to show Big Bang episode list.
Is this normal, or are they having issues with the web code, like their ipad code?
I've had zero problems with my 5+ year old Series 3HD until yesterday. It was locked up and required a hard restart by unplugging. Now it just freezes on the Welcome, Powering Up screen. The fan spins, but the hard drive doesn't. Popped the top and did a a quick visual. All normal except at least one bulging cap. Is it likely that the power supply has failed and *not* the internal drive?
Many of you have tons more experience with this than I.
Depending on what you all have to say, I'll probably just swap out the cap, and any others that look suspicious before replacing the HD.

The newest update causes a loss of station information on recordings from a previous lineup.
One of my XL4/Elite boxes that came with the Fall Update already installed has received a 2nd fall update. The other still has the original fall update.
One box now has 20.2.2
and one has 18.104.22.168
The one with the newer 22.214.171.124 update has lost all of the station data for existing recordings from a previous lineup.
Through 20.2.2 TIVO was really smart on how to handle recordings from a previous lineup. It recognized the station, for instance H2 (ch341), found where H2 is on your current lineup, and assigned the new channel (ch127) and H2 to your existing recording.
With 126.96.36.199 TIVO instead loses the station identification, and assigns what whatever station is currently associated with the channel (ch341) STARS to the recording even though it was originally recorded on H2. This also sometimes causes a failure when you attempt Explore This Show. It finds nothing and returns you to the episode screen.
In addition to the Explore This Show failures, this is frustrating because the station that a show was recorded on tells me a lot about the type of show it is.
We just bought a Premiere 4 (4 tuner with Lifetime and ext. warranty*) to replace our 2 year old Series 4 (2 tuner with Lifetime). (Going to be selling soon)
I just wanted to say, the P4 has a significantly brighter video output (side by side to the S4) that I wasn't expecting to see. I'm not sure how this difference would translate on an LED screen, but on a 60" DLP screen it makes quite a difference. At first I thought it was just in the menus - but it's in live TV and recordings as well.
Whether one likes it or not, is a YMMV - but it was something unexpected for sure! Just sayin' ...
*We also bought the 3 year warranty on the P4 - only a 90 day manufacturer's warranty on a brand new Tivo box is scary. I've never had a Tivo break, but it sure indicates a lack of confidence and support for the hardware on the part of the company!

How do I sort Tivo YouTube results? I've tried everything, is there some hidden button combo?
Is anyone else experiencing outages? After bringing a new P4 online I now have two Tivos temporarily - yet neither one will show it's data in My To Do List or My Shows through the website UI. The individual hardware boxes show this information perfectly.
The online Season Pass Manager however - works fine! I have been able to copy all the Season Passes from the old Tivo to the P4.
I have viewed this same situation in 4 different browsers across 2 computers and been over this all with Tivo Online Support Chat with no resolution.
It's been 3 days since the P4 was brought online. The other Premiere had been reflecting To Do List and My Shows items online just fine - before the P4 was brought online.
I have run "Messages & Settings > Settings > Network & Phone > Connect to the TiVo service now" - multiple times on both boxes.
The Virtual Channel Map date and time is current. TiVo Central > Settings and Messages > Account and System Information > VCM:
If I delete 3 shows in a row fusing the iPad app the tivo premier will reboot. Any one else seeing this?
Well, I didn't expect that Peter would remove the Observer tech so soon.
So much more that could be explored. :(
OTOH, it was right for him to remove it. He doesn't want to completely lose his emotions.
Hopefully, his brain won't revert back to 'normal' even though the tech was removed.
I like Peter having some of the same abilities as the Observers.

I'm sure there in an obvious answer to this but after a fair amount of searching I can't find anyone that is having the same issue. For the past few weeks I've been getting a pop up window twice a day that an update is available. There is an option install or cancel it. Problem is that no matter what buttons that I push on my remote I can't select either of the options and the window eventually disappears. Has anyone else come across this issue?

all i have is amazon instant video and youtube on my new premier. no netflix hulu blockbuster or fall update, long time tivo customer on and off the past 10 years. going on a week now and i call every day and nobody seems to care they just tell me to wait. they told me its missing groups. im getting very impatient and i really dont want to wait much longer to get what i am paying for. I dont want to exchange the box because i already got the cablecard paired and comcast is a bunch of idiots and it would take two days to pair the card again knowing their incompetent reps. i know this issue can be fixed via software. every day i call they say their engineers are working on it.. how long can it be to click a checkbox? anyone have this issue before or know how i can get this resolved NOW?

While in the guide, I can't hide the Live TV box (by pressing "Slow").
This works in Tivo Central, My Shows, ToDo, etc.
Can anyone else confirm this?
Or has something changed in how to hide this window?
I use the Tivo website often to check my shows and to do list. This seemed to always work until recently. I think the problem started with the latest service update but i cant be sure (the timing is right). My Premiere does not populate anything on the website and my HDXL is fine and populating the website I followed these instructions from the website
Not seeing all your shows in your online lists? Here's why:
If you recently made changes to your To Do and My Shows Lists, it may take a little time for your changes to appear online. Changes will appear after your DVR connects to the TiVo service. For broadband-connected DVRs, this happens within about 15 minutes; for telephone-connected DVRs, this happens within 36 hours.
TiVo Suggestions and downloaded content are not displayed in online lists at this time.
Online To Do and My Shows Lists are not available for Series2 customers at this time.
In rare cases, you may need to reboot your DVR to update your online lists.
Still not working any ideas?

I recently had a service call to address severe pixellation on my ancient Hughes Tivo HDVR2. The tech checked out the whole system and confirmed a good signal at the dish (after replacing the LNB) and that both lines meet spec's. That just leaves the receiver itself. I had already previously replaced the power supply with one from an identical (slightly newer) spare unit, so that leaves either the hard drive or the main board as the likely culprit.
So, I exchanged the existing main board with the main board from the spare unit. It booted up fine throughout the download phase. But when it reached 100% of the 4-colored balls, I got a message saying the wrong access card was inserted (I had re-used the existing access card, NOT the one from the spare unit) - which suggests that the card number is somehow stored on the main board and not on the hard drive.
So, I tried rebooting again with the access card from the spare unit. This time it completely booted, but when I tried to access my Now Showing and local channels, I got the following message:
"A hardware problem has been detected which needs your attention. Until . . . fixed, you will not be able to record programs or watch recordings You will need to restart the Recorder now. If you see . . . etc."
So, I assume it is trying to use the (now closed) account of the former owner of my spare unit.
So my questions are:
Q1. I assume that to make this (replacement board) work, I have to use the original access card - is this correct? (yes or no)
Q2. If yes, can I somehow continue using the spare main board, or do I have to reinstall the original main board? (spare or original)
Q3. Assuming that there's a way to commission the spare main board, will a "restart" fix the problem or (if not) what is the exact process to interface the replacement/spare main board with my original access card, so that I can confirm that the main board is what is at the root of my pixellation problem?
Any/all input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks . . .
I used to be able to delete several recordings in a row (usually in Tivo Suggestions) by repeatedly hitting the clear key.
But now, when I delete the first it jumps to the third instead of the second.
I'm using a Harmony remote but have been doing that for a very long time w/o this problem.
Any ideas about what's happening?
Going from one Tivo box to another (P3-->P4 upgrade).
Once I'm sure the Season Pass transfers (done) and recording is all working fine I want to stop the old Tivo from doing any further recordings.
Other than just unplugging the Cable IN - is there a way to globally stop/pause it from further recordings without trashing the Season Passes/schedules?
If I DO unplug cable IN will it just record dead space then? Or does it see no signal and use zero space? We are at about 80% full and are going to watch or transfer everything off the old box (with iTivo) in the next week or so. I just don't want it to start erasing stuff to fill with dead air or redundant recordings...
