The most startling shark tank ever. 11/2/12 OAD.
There was no criticism of the product. They did'nt even ask about production costs or pricing.
The inventors attitude just stuck in the shark's craw.
My TiVo HD XL no longer generates an audible tone you can hear from the TV speakers when I press the buttons on the TiVo remote. Did I press something on the remote to disable the audible tone by accident?
I guess they're getting into the habit of ending with a shock...
I was half-expecting Peter to teleport back to Olivia!
So I suppose the origin story in question is that of Peter the Observer? Peteserver? Obpeter?
Or maybe of the Observer race? They brought the tech back in time that led to their own existence?
I was wondering about the Etta posters...it didn't seem she's been dead long enough. It made me wonder if the timeline hadn't changed in some subtle way when the black hole bomb went off. But that doesn't seem to be where they're going...
I have 3 Premieres with tuning adapters with Time Warner Cable in KCMO. One is working just fine, it is in our basement. The other 2 are upstairs and they are not displaying any channels, not even local channels. Trying to tune to any channel gives the little TiVo bubble message "searching for signal on cable channel". I tried rebooting one of the TiVos & tuning adapters because they usually fixes any tuning issue. Now, that tuning adapter is blinking green constantly, and still no channels. I got a call from an alleged "cable card specialist" from TWC and he had me check a couple of the CableCARD menus. On the DAVIC screen, the status is Not Locked on both of those TiVos but on the functioning unit, the status is Locked. He said this is a cable signal problem so he scheduled a truck roll.....however next appt is Wed. So I'll be going a week without being able to watch any tv channels or record any of my shows.(we rarely use our basement, it's my husband's workshop)
I just wanted to check here if there is any way to resolve this myself? Or am I dependent on TWC to fix this?
Apparently this took place on Nov 1, 2012. I haven't watched it yet.
I want to replace my failing external 1gb drive (Toshiba PH3100U-1EXB) this weekend. I would like to go to a store and purchase a drive. I have Fry's and MicroCenter nearby. What external drive currently on the market will work? What do you recommend?
I posted before in the Series 3 forum about my Series 3 OLED Model 648250b) failing to boot. With a little handholding from unitron in replacing the capacitors on the power supply and diagnostics on the 2TB WD20EADS drive (no errors), I concluded the software was at fault and the drive needed to re-imaged.
I purchased the drive from a vendor on ebay back in March with the software pre-loaded and it worked fine for the following 6 months. I contacted him and let him know it no longer worked.
He offered to reimage the drive for $30, and I have been trying to reach him again for shipping and payment instructions. No luck.
Anyway, since people on this forum have reported being successful in formating 2TB drives on their own with full capacity on the 648250 using WinMFS, I decided to do it myself since I used WinMFS successfully in the past.
I downloaded unitron's WinMFS back-up file "648250b.tbk" and attempted to restore it onto my 2TB drive. I successfully selected the drive. I left all the defaults the same for the process, but the restore failed after partition 12 (status bar about 45% done).
The message is "Error writing media inode 1"
I tried again, this time using the delete format function prior to the restore, but received the same result.
Does anyone know what this means? Maybe the drive is bad after all? Any advice?
We all are quick to beat up TiVo when they screw up, so I thought it would be nice to send them a nice shout out of "THANK YOU" for finally fixing the Season Pass Manager.:up::up:
After all these years... It has been completely rediesigned with new features and new HD interface. The "To-Do List has been updated as well. They got rid of the useless "History" screen and replaced it with a line item that says "Conflict" (in both the SPM and the TDL).
You can now re-prioritize your Season Passes now without locking up the GUI for 5 minutes between each move. It was all but unusable before, and in fact, I have been using the Web based interface for years. The overall speed of the GUI seems a bit snappier too. All in all, a good update and a little credit where credit it due. Thank you TiVo. Especially for the new SP Manager! :)
I've been watching The Mentalist off and on for the past few seasons. I want to say that I probably saw most of season 3, all of season 4, and have definitely seen all of the current (5th) season.
The most recent episode, S05E05 - Red Dawn, left me with some questions:
Who was the FBI woman in the limo who called the CBI director at the end of the episode? Also, who was the man in the limo with her that directed her to call the CBI?
I'm sure I'd know the answer to both of these questions if I'd seen every episode, since the whole episode was a prequel to the series.
NEW YORK — NBC is doing a benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Sandy featuring some artists native to the areas hardest hit.

Hey, they have On Demand on Tivo on RCN and XFinity now.
I am assuming that Fios will be coming eventually.
Anyone privvy to it? Definitely yes, or no or dont know?
Haven't viewed the ep yet, but thought I'd start this week's thread in case anyone wanted to discuss. I'll be back tomorrow!
Surprised I didn't find a thread on this....just watched last night the second live show of the season (for whatever reason my TiVo did not record the first live show.....)at any rate, what a circus...Khloe Kardashian as a host...are you kidding me....and the constant screaming from the audience, so very annoying. Not sure i will be able to stand the rest of the season...other than the possible enjoyment I will get from watching the wheels fly off of this show.
Since the newest update, programs transferred to the Tivo are being listed just as "My Tivo Recordings" and not being grouped together.
I opened a ticket with Tivo. They had me uninstall and reinstall the Tivo desktop software, and reboot the box which didn't change anything.
This is the response I got:
I have gone ahead and reported this as a bug with the fall update, but there is one additional step to try if you don't mind. Could you test with the box for "Use fastest transfer for Premiere boxes" both checked and unchecked to see if it has the same issue? This option can also be found in the File > Preferences menu.
I haven't tried the last suggestion yet, but I will later today.
If anyone is interested, my ticket # is 121101-009009
I have a Premiere XL 4 that I would like to use MOCA as my network connection.
Unfortunately it does not work, I keep getting a C33 error. I know the problem is not my network. I have a FIOS cable box on the network using MOCA as well as a TIVO Premiere using MOCA also. I can eliminate the drop in the room, because I can move the FIOS box (which uses MOCA) to the drop that the Premiere XL 4 does not work on, and it is ok.
I am at a loss, This must be an issues with the XL4 box, has anyone had a similar issue? I have 220.127.116.11 software version and the tech support person said it should work. Please don't tell me to call tech support they are blaming the FIOS connection , which is wrong. I already tested (see above) and it is not the network.
I'm getting kind of annoyed, it must be a hardware issue and TIVO should replace the box since it is brand new and I have a 3 year warranty.
so here's a quick question - i just ran jmfs to copy my premiere drive data onto a 1TB WDEADS green drive. i had previously used this drive in my old TivoHD, and had run wdidle to disable intellipark.
what i'm wondering is, if that setting is stored somewhere on the drive that got copied over when i ran jmfs? or is it in some sector that isn't touched and therefore the setting remains regardless of what you do to the drive's data - whether it be a byte for byte copy like jmfs does or a complete format.
it just occurred to me, of course, AFTER i put the drive in the tivo and hooked everything up. if it had occurred to me earlier, i would've just run it and checked. So i'm hoping to save myself some trouble. :)
I have been pretty busy and unfortunately I have 365 shows that I have not watched just yet. Right now, you have to choose that folder and scan all he way down to the bottom.
Is there an easier way to get to these shows? Can they be renamed or something so that I can maybe have them by month (going thru 30 shows would be a lot easier)?
Or would the Plus help me in any way (or another program)?
I converted a couple to play on the Nexus 7 - I guess I could try to convert them to burn them to a DVD.
Any thoughts / ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.
Does anyone know of a good Wireless Range Extender that works with TiVo Stream? I need it to boost the signal so I can get reception in the top floor.
I bought the Amped Wireless Range extender before I got my TiVo Stream, and its not compatible. It creates a seperate network, so the TiVo App is unable to find the TiVo.
Thanks in advance,
I am looking at several options to get my HD digital cable TV subscription to a basement TV. Its not used frequently down there so I want something flexible. The TiVo "mini" is one option I am waiting for (provided it doesn't fully "hijack" a tuner) and using an Xbox360 with Ceton/SiliconDust products is another route I am considering.
A few months ago I got a Western Digital Live Hub player and Slingbox SOLO since both can be used together to stream live content from my upstairs TiVo to a basement TV (using the WDTV as the receiver). However, the quality stunk and the controls were EXTREMELY lagging. Even over my hard wired home network, changing a channel took a good 10-15 secs. The Slingbox had to be reset frequently too. Needless to say, I returned the Slingbox SOLO (but did keep the WDTV hub) since I didn't feel it was worth the price tag.
I know they also have new slingboxes out (model 350 & 500), but am hesitant to try them again thinking I would experience the same results as before.
Another similar product I have seen out there and considered is the Monsoon Multimedia Vulkano devices. I thought about getting both a 'Flow' & 'Blast' in order to be able to send the live TV (from TiVo) to this basement TV. Like the Slingbox, I am aware that changing channels will affect BOTH TV viewings so no need to point this out.
Has anyone used these Vulkano products with TiVo to stream live TV in their home to an additional TV? Is it any good and/or worth it? Quality good or bad? Any other advantages/disadvantages?
