I just upgraded to a new Premier XL, Mainly so I could get the new Xfinity On Demand service.
Unfortunately it's not working. I get the menus and when I select a video it starts playing for about two seconds, then freezes. Any video, every time.
Sometimes I get an error screen that gives a reference number SRM-8001.
I've called Comcast and TiVo and nobody seems to know how to fix it.
So I thought I'd ask the TiVo users. Anyone seen this problem and/or know how to fix it?
I did search the forums and Google for anything on this and couldn't find anything.
Update: I called Comcast back and finally got someone who knew what they were doing. He was able to send a command to my cable card and got things working.
That was a flawless "we don't know if this is going to be the season or series finale" finale!
Little surprised to see Percy and Roan die, though...
DirecTiVo iPhone Remote?
So I'm thinking of switching to DirecTV from my current cable provider. Since I will have to give up TiVo HD to do so, I am consider the new DirecTiVo they are offering. I was curious, is there any iPhone apps out there that will act like a remote control for it? I didn't see any support for it in the descriptions of the official iPhone TiVo app, but I wasn't sure if it just wasn't listed or if there was a 3rd party app that might support it instead. Thanks
Got a replacement XL (under warranty) on Monday for my 2 year old XL that died.
I thought the random crashes that I had been experiencing since the 20.X update a couple of months ago might have been due to my failing XL. Apparently, not so. Just experienced my first crash with the new box. Just sitting here watching a playback of a recorded show and the show froze and then the unit rebooted all by itself. Not using the remote or doing anything intensive. Only 8% space used on the hard drive. Firmware version is 20.2.Oa
It was a short reboot, maybe 5 minutes total. Now, after the reboot it is very slow and slow to respond to remote commands. Bluetooth is not even connected.
About 3 years ago I studied every thing regarding upgrading my directivo. Had things book marked, programs installed and on my desktop, etc, etc. I pretty much understood the basics. Now years later I don't have even a clue how to communicate with the box.
I have a Philips DSR700. I upgraded with instantcake and PTVnet. 304 hours, 6.2a
I used to have tytools and remember being able to connect to the unit and see what programs were on it.
I do still have my linksys 2.0 usb Ethernet adapter and the original dvr upgrade disks (somewhere).
I'd like to be able to tell the unit to upgrade to 6.4a or at least see if I have those downloads on the hard disk , but the unit has been told not to upgrade.
I don't care about losing any of the "hacks", I just need to get my local channels back.
I'm in Southern California and I lost about 4 locals. Other than that, the box has worked great all this time.
I was able to ping it, but when I tried to telnet to it it would not connect on port 23.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm looking for a Tivo brand wireless G adapter (AG0100) for use with an S2 box. Ebay is full of them but I was hoping to get one, delivered, for about $20. Anyone willing to part with one at that price?
Just noticed that My tivo Premiere is now streaming Netflix and Youtube in Canada. Youtube quality seems to be preety good and it seems to stream flawlessly. I dont have Netflix so cant really say. But I might sign up for the trial to see.
Any one else in Canada try it yet?
How hard is it to transfer a Tvo into my account that does not have service? It was cleared and deleted when I powered it up.
Does a service plan need to be added at the same time of transfer?
Haven't finished watching yet, but wanted to start a thread so discussion could happen without spoiler tags!
I am trying to MRS from another Tivo Premiere and I think that the show may have been deleted. Is it normal not to be able to see the recently deleted folder when trying to stream a show from another Premiere? I am connected through a Slingbox so I am not able to go check the other Premiere.
Has anyone had issues with Tivo suggestions recording hardcore porn? We have a Tivo Premiere, don't have any premium channels like HBO or Cinemax, and watch mostly network dramas, sitcoms, and my wife watches the Real Housewives stuff.
Since the newest update, we find it will switch itself to the hardcore porn channels and starts recording them. I think its hilarious at the titles it posts, but my wife, not so much.
I'm at a loss as to what would make it record those suggestions - we have a season pass for SVU, but that seems completely out of line to record porn.
We don't even record movies on TNT or TBS, so I don't have a clue what it could be thinking. I am a Howard Stern fan, but I don't have, nor can I get Howard Stern channel. Is it reading my mind about thing I think are funny?
Tell me others have seen this!
I just replaced the hard disk on my Tivo due to a disk failure. It would be nice to have all my season pass, channel preferences, Netflix & Amazon logins, etc information backup up somewhere like Tivo.com or anywhere else they deem appropriate. It would have saved me quite a few hours worth of work.
I'm having difficulty accessing my Tivo from computer using either Tivo Desktop or kmttg. In kmttg I get the error message:
Failed to retrieve Now Playing List from [Tivo name]
Exit code: 7
Yesterday I installed the newest version of kmttg and everything worked fine. Today I tried to access my tivo through kmttg and it can't find the tivo. The tivo is able to connect to the network for service updates. I've tried restarting the tivo, restarting my computer and reinstalling kmttg. Any ideas?\
Trying to line up some summer viewing...
BBCA is running all 38 "The Tudors" next weekend, May 21/22, start to finish. Seems like a great chance to grab 'em, if they're worth watching.
For those that did, was it worth it? Or do you wish you had 38 hours of your life back? For those that started and quit, why?
Feel free to comment as specifically as you like. Spoilers are probably moot at this point in time, as I heard Henry VIII eventually died.:D
PS: This appears to be the same show that was originally broadcast on Showtime from April 2007 to November 2010.
Who knew the little goofy guy from Alias could be such a badass?
Seriously, the actor does a great job of switching from warm and friendly to "I'magonna shoot yo ass."
I really hope they wrap this up neatly next week.
My Tivo S3 TCD 648 with DVR expander started rebooting about once a day and freezing increasing in frequency until now it simply is stuck on Welcome Powering up. Front panel has all lights on and won't Kickstart 54. Tried a new eSATA cable, booting with DVR expander disconnected with same result. After blowing compressed air through the vents with no new result and reading all posts about bulging capacitors, I opened the case and observe no bulging domes. The fan is running but the hard drive doesn't seem to spin up and is silent with no vibration to the touch. Thoughts? Thank you, this forum and site is a great resource!!!
As usual I'm recording, but not watching, because I'm afraid of getting burned again.
Already found out ALCATRAZ isn't coming back, so that was a royal waste of hard drive space. (And to think I already burned the first four to DVD. Sheesh!)
Think AWAKE has a chance? I haven't read anything about its ratings.
No sig chosen for this post.
A series about the inner workings of Southwest Airlines, both from the air and especially at the airport.
If it sounds a bit familiar, you're not imagining things: A&E did a series called Airline
a few years back, also featuring SWA, and is simply the US version of a UK TV series of the same name, which aired here as Airline UK.
From what I saw in the previews, it appears to be a blatant ripoff of Airline.
However I did enjoy that series, so I've set a season pass for it.
